I bought my 2006 Spanish model 2 years ago, had it on the road for 6 months, and same thing happened, head gasket, 4 cracks in the head. I am rebuilding. But got half way and on the way to the garage to work on it had an ancient on my motorbike and have been in recovery for 12 months, and another few to go. Feels like I will never get it finished. I replaced all drives, suspension bushes, arms, new rack for roof, lights, light bar, lifted 2" and lots of other bits. over 2K spent so far LOL.

Question , did you sel the other hole were you removed the pipe on the airbox ?

Where did you get the catch can from mate?

The rear door on mine got stuck and wouldn't open, but it turned out the steel cable for the latch mechanism was bunged up with this gunky shit so just cleaned and re lubed it and works fine now, admit thought I cut a hole in the door plastic trim and bolted a big bit of plastic yo make a hatch for future access etc 😁.

Hey man, how much difference replacing vacuum hoses made to the drive? Was it quieter and better fuel economy?

I have a 2011 R51 LE that is black like yours I drive here in Texas. I put on a bull bar and upgraded the roof rack. I bought a 52 inch LED curved light bar for the roof and a 20 inch one for the bull bar. I am planning on getting a 3 inch body lift as well as a 2 inch suspension lift and a set of the Icelandic made Fjallasport fender flares.. Those fender flares can make the R51 look so sexy..

Can you figure out how to make the back seats recline. The third row does not reclined at all I wish there was a hack for that

Just another tip......before doing all that work.....just try to spray electronic contact cleaner in the buttons without removing anything....then while spraying move the button up and down......that procedure fixed my issue with the window....

Dude... I love that you want to do this work yourself, but please slow down. Measure twice, cut/drill once. Also, when laying out the paper template, line the door, fender, and wheel well all together then tape the lowest sections first, working out to the wheel well.

body lift is a waste of time & hassle. 2" suspension lift is easy, inexpensive & functional. building the roof rack is simple with unistrut or welder. tires can fit up to 33" tall without much trouble. r51 is useful, practical & very much fun.

You know the pipe that goes into the intake after the MAF? I read somewhere that’s also coming from a PCV. Might pay to use a T piece into the can then another one out. I’m thinking about it
