Kanan is NOT a "weak" Jedi. If anything, Kanan is an example of the "average" Jedi. We just spend so much time with the Galaxy's heaviest hitters that we forget that even a "run-of-the-mill" Force-user is *leagues* above a normal person and are essentially superhuman. Kanan reminds us of that.

My favorite part is its never made completely clear if he was still messing with them or was genuinely interested 😂.
Kanan exemplified the jedi better than any other character (yes, that includes Luke and Obi Wan). This show was great.

The episode leading up to Kanan's death and the one before it are some of my favourite parts of Star Wars. I watched it for the first time about a year ago, knowing that Kanan died. Since the episodes were so well crafted, I couldn't help shedding a few tears when the big scene happened.

rebels would have been better in my opinion. if they didn't have so many gunfights where they stand just a meter or two away from each other shooting and both rebels and stormtroopers miss every shot. then Sabine who was just missing targets stood in front of her can head shot droids over 100 meters away in the next scene. the sewer scene with hear in the sewers on the ladder ith shots going around her made me stop watching. playing it up like some dramatic moment and it was just fucking stupid.

Kanon’s death was the most gut wrenching death in Star Wars History in my opinion I mean Star Wars doesn’t have a lot of really huge deal deaths in it, like Han’s death in Force Awakens was really sad but pretty much everyone knew he was gonna die. Same with Leia. Luke’s character was completely ruined by the time they killed him off so that wasn’t really super impactful. Other than that nothing really super gut wrenching now if you say Obi Wan I get it but only if you watch the Prequels before The Original Trilogy outside of that his death in New Hope in the 70s wasn’t like that big of a deal like he was an old guy who was protecting Luke for all that time until he was ready to grow to be a Jedi and plus Obi Wan comes back like 4 or 5 times as a force ghost in the next 2 movies so he’s not really dead in that kind of “oh we’ll never see him again” kinda way. I think Kanon’s is because he was a really good character that was built up really well with a really interesting backstory and had an actual reason to keep living on in the Star Wars Universe because he definitely had more to offer as a character which I think made it all the more shocking that they killed him like that. Plus it’s a kids show (sorta) so you don’t actually ever expect anyone important to die. So based on How it felt Overall Shock Value And my 44 year old mother crying when it happened It’s the saddest death in Star Wars History. Sorry for the Yap I’m just going back and rewatching the entire show rn so it’s easy to talk about in the moment.

@lordoftomfoolery19 күн бұрын
you can tell artistically from his death that hes using a technique that we've only seen yoda use before which that alone should make him super strong
@LizardMan867530919 күн бұрын
It wasn’t that he was weak, but that his training was exceedingly far from complete. By the end of season 2 he had JUST got to where he should have been as a knight had the purge not happened. He’d likely never reach Obi-Wan, Anakin, Luke or Ahsoka level due to lacking the experience, potential, or very unique tutelage (in Ashoka’s case), but he was an extremely respectable Jedi nonetheless.

Actually, Rebels is my favorite Star Wars show. It has something TCW lacks - long and consistent plot. TCW can jump between characters, planets, genres and the timeline, when Rebels are methodic, consistent. You watch characters growing, caring and living alongside each other, and it's so compelling!

I mean of the combat jedi he is weak but that also goes to show just how strong jedi were and why just 1 was able to sway entire pre-clone wars battles, most of the jedi that couldnt do alot of what he did were put in the service corps were they would handle medical, education, exploration, or farming instead edit: the reason his vision came back right at the very end was because of something Bendo informed him of, when a being fully surrenders to the force they shall return to their natural state and for him that state is with his eyes; he knew he was going to die and he let the force take him fully allowing him to see his love one last time before becoming one with the force though death in the explosion
@shawnaroberts2122 күн бұрын
5:55 his vision came back because the force itself gave it to him. Before he left with Ezra and Ahsoka for Malacore 5, he promised Hera they would see each other again. As Kanan is holding back the explosion, he is giving himself entirely to the force, so the force itself honored his promise to Hera.

3:41 the thing is most Mandalorians would probably agree with this statement. They serve to even the playing field when fighting Jedi but ultimately they mean nothing without training and discipline

Reason his vision came back I always thought - keeping in mind that some jedi know how to heal through force - he learned to heal after growing stronger, but he figured that lacking eyesight lets him "see" better. Through force or other senses, maybe both But at that moment... he just wanted to see her for the last time So he healed his eyes.
@dko-JackSkalington20 күн бұрын
The real reason is a little of that, he gained access to the cosmic force due to his actions here. (same thing Obi-One was boosted by, during his fight with Vader on mustafar.) A jedi can gain it only if they're trully giving themselves to the will of the force and willing to completely sacrafice themselves for it. Cosmic force is what force ghosts are made off. Most Jedi just use the living force. It's why the Lightside is stronger than the Darkside, darkside users can't use the Cosmic Force.
