Yup. More Millions wasted so that 2 clueless leaders can discuss the terracotta colors on the walls of the NIO House Frankfurt, that ended up selling pretty much 0 cars this year. Maybe they should have chosen another color ?

I’m really doubt that was done with a roof box on a ET5T the Video seems just to be a marketing thing. I went to Dunhuang with Motorcycle from Lanzhou, the roads are in pretty good conditions, no need driving gravel roads. Therefore let’s wait until we get the 150kWh battery → hopefully after next week. Then I’ll proof what’s going with ET7, guessing 800km could be possible if not driving much over 100km/h 🪫🔁🔋🏁

Lenovo/NIO with their innovative battery swapping stations around Asia and Europe faster than fast charging and NIO EP9 was world's fastest fully autonomous EV in 2017, then BYD, Xiaomi, Dongfeng, Hongqi, Huawei and so on.. Seriously China is way ahead than the rest of the world. Don't be surprised many designers of already established brands in Europe has migrated to Chinese brands including head designers team of Rolls Royce to Hongqi, etc.

Nvidia's autonomous hardware works very well even in cars like Nio. I wonder why Tesla decided to work on their own hardware instead of just going with Nvidia. Cheaper and better.

NIO is working on its own chip now and will soon stop using NVIDIA to move away from dependency on the US based Technology.

People who own houses don't give a shit about battery swapping station, but even in the U.S., 40% of people don't have houses. We need battery swaps as well so we can conveniently get a fresh 100% battery in minutes, just like pumping gas for ICE vehicles, and they must coexist with traditional ev chargers.

I agree that Battery Swap is better than EV Chargers. But how do you solve the issue when someone came in with a faulty battery that can sabotage the whole station?

Each battery that is brought in is tested, if it fails it is pulled out of the system and fixed. Only NIO batteries will swap in the system.

I am an ES6 owner for 3 years. They’ll test it in the station before the car is allowed to leave after the swapping- you’ll see the green light with voice reminders in the car. Any batteries with defects will be replaced. As a user, I don’t need to worry about the battery life or quality years after I buy the car - all I need to do is going to the swap station again. Except for the first time when I was reluctant to hand over the fairly new battery to the station 😂

I watched a video where a Tesla owner was on his third battery replacement, it was under warranty so it was free. The battery replacement was a refurbished battery not a new one. I do not own a EV , if NIOs are available in my area I would only buy a EV that has a swappable battery. Battery replacement out of warranty on a Tesla can run up to $20,000. No thanks…
