If anyone didn’t notice the description how the piano in the middle section started playing itself because it was a “Player Piano” which is a specialised kind of piano that can play pieces using a mechanism without the need of a human pianist actually playing it. Despite it didn’t actually 100% replicate the expression it still sounded near perfect to my ears, but a human pianist especially a virtuoso can actually bring out better aspects to a piece. Not trying to be competitive but it’s actually true.

When they figured out how to bring us back... ...some of us would tell stories 'bout what we saw on the other side. We saw old friends... family... ...mostly strangers. I spoke to my grandfather. He's been dead for thirty years.

My favorite Gershwin composition. So well done. They truly love what they do. It shows in their skills.

The greatest pianist of our time forgets that Liszt and Chopin wrote this piece (yes I said Chopin), in the era of the hammer claviers, which means that the high octaves were needed to be played like hammering the keyboard, otherwise the audience wouldn’t hear it. Acoustics were a major problem back then. However Lang chooses to play it ignoring the historical facts. Just one note: the range to hear a piano in the time this piece was written was just 5 meters. The piano strings were made of animal guts, not metallic as today. That is why it was the tradition to have 5 players across an opera house for the entire audience to hear.

I was once told in a band class to never tap my foot because the audience would become fixated on the toe tapping, lessening their enjoyment of the music. If your facial expression during the performance is indistinguishable from severe indigestion, the same principle applies.
