I’ll bet you can get a new case for that Universal Genéve. You need to open the case back and take the movement out and measure the case outside and inside and the movement and do a little trial and error. It can be done- don’t pay to have those lugs added on- soldering steel will be OK but they’d have to re-plate it

Nice find. I was cringing every time you rubbed your fingers against those potentially radium lume dials on the watches with the missing crystals. Also, the little sub-seconds' hands are very delicate, as are the dial faces. The best practice is to wear finger cots when handling watches that aren't cased. Saves your fingers and also avoids getting your skin oils, dirt, and moisture on the hands, dial, and movement. It can corrode them.

@ResellingHistory if im being honest my firt reply would be dont go near it. But take a look online for the proper health and safety gear. Get the proper grade mask, get proper ventelation, wear gloves that dont allow it to get onto the skin. Even at that. Fully eash hands with loads of soap and wash and clense all tools and surfaces that may have been near it. To be safe id take a look online for the proper gear but for now store it away in like a tripple lines bag and then in a box to be safe. Once again take a look online for suggestions as they do release radon gass as well so too many in one area thats not ventalated is bad. Sounds really ocd but its best to he safe. A lot of people claim its okay. Treat it with respect and caution and not an oh well attitude like a lot of people and try not to touch with bear hands again@@ResellingHistory

@@ResellingHistory Just found more.... it was founded in 1946 by two WW2 Veterans. One was a mess sergeant. I guess it was a theme restaurant rather than some sort of official location for the military. There was a similar type restaurant on Long Island NY called the 56th Fighter Group Restaurant located at Republic Airport. It was built and decorated to look like a pub type hangout for pilots located in England during the war. It too is no longer there. One of the 56th's key members Francis Gabby Gabreski lived on Long Island after WW2 but I have no idea if he had any official connection to that restaurant.
