That Omega looks like it's made of Gold. Probably worth quite a bit. I'm glad you're hanging on to that one!

@@ResellingHistoryYeah, I've seen plated Omega watches, and other vintage watches. I could tell it was really gold! So many people would take the engraving off, or sell it for the gold value. The gold value is a lot. Stanley worked 25 years with that company. Back then a man usually only had one watch. Engraving was more common. I know some still do it, but maybe it will come back. I'm sure Stanley would be happy that you have his watch! Someone who appreciates it, and doesn't just want to make a quick dollar off of it. I know that's how I would feel with my watches. It's neat how companies used to do that. Nice collection friend!

@@1988banker yeah, absolutely, with the price of gold going up it’s worth holding onto. I agree I think that’s why I really like it is because 25 years of his hard work, and he was award of this beautiful watch. Interestingly, I did a little digging and his grandson lives In the same city as a thrift shop I bought it from. So sadly, his grandson is most likely the one who gave away all of his grandfather watches. I could never do that, but I guess they were meant to be in my hands instead. 😊

I’ll bet you can get a new case for that Universal Genéve. You need to open the case back and take the movement out and measure the case outside and inside and the movement and do a little trial and error. It can be done- don’t pay to have those lugs added on- soldering steel will be OK but they’d have to re-plate it

@ I recently started watching videos of watch repair guys and I bought some tools and started a project with a fake Rolex I wanted to upgrade and boy- does it get complicated quick when it comes to movements. You can do a lot with being a handy guy with the internet but it quickly becomes a puzzle

Your collection is very similar to mine( I would hold up selling off that Wakkman And Blancpain so quickly! Custom lugs are more expensive than you think! For bands,try wholesale watch supply companies! Remember Gold is way up! It's " Bumper" The story's and personal histories are priceless to me! There are many band sizing tutorials around! You will ultimately have to get them oiled and lubricated,300.00 is nothing! Good night and good luck!

Thanks for the advice! You are absolutely right, in fact, I’ve decided to hold off on selling the Blancpain, currently getting an estimate how much it would cost to repair and put a crystal. It may be a nice gift for my wife! The bumper, surely is my favorite, I love a watch that represents a working man. I think that’s the disconnect with high end luxury watches nowadays. Good video. I'm a vintage collector also, i love dedications on watches, they tell a story. That Hamilton Stormking is sweet. I had one like it. Let me know if your going to put it up for sale.

It really does tell a story, thanks for watching! I surely will, it’s probably my second favorite watch. It’s keeping accurate time, except when it’s wound up a little too much it runs fast, it’s not a huge issue to me though.

Nice collection, expect the man who achieved 25 years for his presentation watch in 1953, was no longer around.
