There were a few poses where the art style stood out to me in a weird way but otherwise really enjoyed Jason Howard’s work. The standout panels for me were right after the one you shouted out, which was the back to back panels of Omega looking back, and waving. Great framing and expression.

I usually comment much earlier, but I had to read this one a couple of times to...digest the events. It's clear DWJ is a huge Starscream fan, and the idea that Megatron....controlled Starscream into being a killer...ugh. It just doesn't sit well with me. Likewise the 'you know the limits of my power' crap. Starscream getting the Decepticons that are more simpatico with him to have a civil war with Soundwave I am down with, though...even though his being half a HISS tank looks absurd. Maybe 15 will have an overall better impression. Also, covers seem to bear out my theory on the Megatron arm thing...

I don’t care for this take on Starscream’s background because it allows for apologists to say “It’s not his fault” and it absolves Starscream of personal responsibility for his cruelty and war crimes.

megatron being able to pseudo-control the user of his altmode has some interesting implications for optimus using his cannon arm right now

7:30 ... I may be wrong but I think this might be another nod to the G1 cartoon, how they have Starscream's body attached to a tank and one eye missing makes me think of Dr. Arkeville from the cartoon.

Something this comic is really starting to show is that in war, there are no winners. Even the innocents like Ulchtar turned into something they weren’t.

I gotta admit I was getting weary of the grim dark seriousness of the story thus far, a little bit of a slog to read. But issue 14 got my interest back. Starscream is still Starscream, but there was some cartoony humor that aligns with who he is, to some more backstory as to why he is the way he is. It was nice to see him have some back and forth with humans as opposed to just squish and smash. Also to see his smirkiness in play, and then have him take back control of himself. Tho Private Razz, gotta be such a convieniently dumb character in the mix like… ok why trust the robot that you helped specifically have a safeguard against, enough to dismantle said safeguards? Almost to a goofy degree. I love the idea of him having a cat companion and a lil human propaganda artist, but Im trying not to get attached to the idea, lest they are killed off in the next issue I love your analysis on Megatron and his use of control. It was a definite choice to have him have an imposing robot form, but keep him in a gun mode (although a bit silly on the mini tank gun design ahah) and as you said, explores the Starscream Megatron dynamic as well as Starscream’s cruelty.

Moonbase, thank you as always. This issue actually made me feel bad for Starscrem. Megatron tortured his followers mentally and physically, terrifying. He makes Starscrem use him as a killing machine, sadistically brilliant. Wow, this story is dark. The Decepticons are true monsters. Can't wait to see what is next. Thank you as always for your content.

Man what a great issue. Best part was the ending where Starscream is finally allowed to let loose. That scene where Starscream uses the very controller that was used to control him to kill his captor was amazing. I saw someone on reddit call Razz probably one of the dumbest humans in Transformers history and that's probably accurate. On the one hand though they're working for Cobra so it's not like they didn't deserve it. Also I found Starscream sparing the one guy so he could keep drawing him utterly hilarious.

I really would have liked a loyal starscream and he is betrayed and then we understand why he is a traitor. He needs a story arc that is a bit more complex.

I can't wait to see Optimus and Megatron's origins in the energon universe

I freaking love this series so far. Read the 14th issue and it was awesome to see Starscream half Tank.

No wonder why Starscream end up being unstable jerk, Megatron used Starscream's grieve and innocence for his own benefits. Megatron deserved that betrayal.
