What Size is ur Energy Ride? Is it a Crash Ride?

It's a 21" Energy, and it's just a ride, it's not a crash ride. I've had a few cymbals from the energy line, they're all quite washy tbh, I think it's just the vibe of that series.

For sure, I used a 20" energy ride in a really noisy band for ages and it sounded great.

How cool!! I really like the idea of adding bongos instead of tom-toms.. - do you use one mic to record it all or one mic for every drum?... what is your advice when one starts alone at home in the living room to think of when recoding on one's own?

Thank you so much, great comment! Yeah bongos are really fun, I love changing my set up to create different sounds, it helps me to get creative. I use a combination of overheads, close mics (one or more mics on one drum) and room mics, but I had a lot less when I first started! You don't need lots of mics, you can get started in your living room with one or two, one overhead and one on your kick drum for example, into a small interface and a free DAW. Then hit record and have fun! Play your favourite groove, or jam along to a song you love in your headphones, shred a solo, whatever you feel like, just get used to the recording process. Every time you run into a problem, use Google or KZbin to find a solution and you'll learn a lot as you go along. Listening back to yourself can be a bit punishing, as you'll notice every tiny mistake, and I personally make a lot of them... Stick with it, drums are awesome and so are you 🤘

Be careful with the two smaller drums, I'm pretty sure the heads are for hand playing so they might break if you play them with sticks a lot.

No stress, I got them second hand and didn't pay a lot, and they've held up well so far. If they break, I'll probably just pick up some nicer ones 😄

@@jamierobinsondrums7874when I was younger (8-12 y/o) I played with 5A and sometimes 420X sticks on $20 bongo’s and I had never any problems with the heads breaking.
