I have a question Mr Rowlands: In Step 2: Track quest log, what do I have to write in the Save Point section? I'm imitating your layout and would like to know what the indications are for that part as well as for the right-side text (Insights/Iterations/Ideas). Thank you much. I'm using this for life in general.
@zaccrowlands
@zaccrowlands 22 күн бұрын
A "Save point" was a note about the day's creative work and an intention for the next day usually. It was my way of logging challenges or successes I ran into. Insights = notes from the day/things I learned. Iterations = were plausible action items & experiments I might try later Ideas = were content ideas or things I wanted to write about. Doing all of that is a bit much, that's why I just talked about the Main Quest & Side Quests in the video. But feel free to try it or make it your own and good luck. Most importantly, have fun!

I've been journaling for about 8 months, something adapted from what Ryder Carroll brought with his book 'The Bullet Journal Method'. The way I was living really helped me slowing down and remember important aspects of my life. About the pocket notebook, I've been carrying one for about the same time and haven't got to half of it, but it's always ready in case of need. I still need to improve using it more instead of my phone. Great video, once again. Thanks for sharing your thoughts 😊

Now THIS is an interesting/innovative approach. I use a weekly/hourly planner to timeblock, which works efficiently for me, BUT I will be implementing this level up tracker bar in the top right corner of each weekly page - and setting some fun rewards! I'm thinking I'll make two "tickers" - one alpha levels, one numeric levels to allow me to track two different items (and two different rewards systems, woot!). Pure genius, love it, thanks for sharing.

Very interesting, thanks! I love games and I might try this system. How do you decide that you achieved a new level - do you look at the progress bar and level up when it is full, or something like that?
@zaccrowlands

Yea I kept it pretty simple. I'd divide the bar into 5 blocks and each day fill one. After 5 days it was full and a level up occurred. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching!

Contentment is the key. Along with joy, pure joy doesn’t require reward. We need to leave out reptilian brains behind and balance our frontal cortex more.
@zaccrowlands
@zaccrowlands Ай бұрын
I don’t think they’re incompatible. Being aware and intentional about how to leverage our lizard brain can bring more joy in the lives of some. But I agree, being satisfied with the present and doing things for the love it is important too. Thanks for watching!

I've always wanted to journal but like you said, I had no idea what to write about. Many other videos make suggestions but they never resonated with me much. I saw your video's thumbnail and made me stop to watch because I have those two books. Your video inspired me to pull out those two books again and to use as a guide to journal with. I'm curious, how do you use those two books to help and guide you, especially the book "Mastery"?

This was a very good video that was very helpful to me. I struggle with GAD and learning to go care what people think is the hardest but your video was constructed in a way that made me really think about how I felt when I was younger and didn’t GAF about what people thought about me or what I did. I was a dancer then too so I had to be seen and I just didn’t care. Now I’m a writer and artist and it’s so hard to not care. I’m going to rewatch this video and take notes and apply these lessons. Thank you. Underrated channel!

For some people the morning isn't their own, they get up just so they can go to work and pay the bills. Makes journaling hard to do when you are already rushed at 4:30am. But journaling really is an important part of the day, stoic or not. Everyone should find some time to "get in their own head" and work through what is going on there.
