Dammmn they were so much better when they had this backing violinist. I actively find Kyle Resnicks singing off-putting and hes always SO forwards in the mix :(

Anyone getting "Terrible Love" vibes during the jam at 1:05:00?
@StillPlayingMusic Жыл бұрын
The outro in Cold Girl Fever is astonishing 1:04:32 . I wish the original studio record sounded like that. What a performance!
@tmbrtn7107 Жыл бұрын
Don't you think it has Terrible Love vibes?
@StillPlayingMusic Жыл бұрын
@@tmbrtn7107 It doesn't really resemble Terrible Love imo. The rhythm here is slower and guitars sound sharper and louder. But the melody itself sounds kinda dreamy and relaxing, so it could fit into High Violet, I guess.

Got into them around 2009 and quickly became the soundtrack of my life. The only downside, from the beginning I've been longing to be at a 2005/2006 gig... Must say Lowlands 2010 was great and Copenhagen Syd for Solen 2022 as well, but god, a setlist like this...

I’ll never forget the first time I heard The National. Mr November on Sirius satellite radio. 2005. Been in love with the sad dads ever since🖤

We were on a trip to France, and I told my wife that I wanted to go on a El Castell Embruix. She said: what is this place? Why go there? I told her that one of the musical miracles happened there, the world did not know it then, but today a few of us do. and I just wanted to be close and see where it happened. That is the closest I can.

I miss this version of the band. These sets and arrangements were amazing. I remember being 14 in 2003 and taking a bus and a train to San Francisco to sneak into a club to see them after Sad Songs came out. Hearing these songs now all these years later makes me feel like a kid again.

You'll never get anywhere close to a set like this again. I like to think the 2014 Australia set is their best but it's really this one. Thank you for the upload and preserving the history of this incredible band.
