I discovered this band when I met them at the wedding reception for their then record producer, Peter Katis. They played two songs at the reception, the performance of which was pictured on their next album, Boxer. For the record they performed Geese of Beverly Road and Daughters of the Soho Riots. I'm in the album cover photo, at far right just in front of the stage. The band played on borrowed instruments (other bands played the reception), and I remember them saying that they didn't think they had many songs appropriate for a wedding dance.

I miss this version of the band. These sets and arrangements were amazing. I remember being 14 in 2003 and taking a bus and a train to San Francisco to sneak into a club to see them after Sad Songs came out. Hearing these songs now all these years later makes me feel like a kid again.

We were on a trip to France, and I told my wife that I wanted to go on a El Castell Embruix. She said: what is this place? Why go there? I told her that one of the musical miracles happened there, the world did not know it then, but today a few of us do. and I just wanted to be close and see where it happened. That is the closest I can.

Got into them around 2009 and quickly became the soundtrack of my life. The only downside, from the beginning I've been longing to be at a 2005/2006 gig... Must say Lowlands 2010 was great and Copenhagen Syd for Solen 2022 as well, but god, a setlist like this...

@StillPlayingMusic Жыл бұрын
@@tmbrtn7107 It doesn't really resemble Terrible Love imo. The rhythm here is slower and guitars sound sharper and louder. But the melody itself sounds kinda dreamy and relaxing, so it could fit into High Violet, I guess.
