A huge percentage of the S line west of Ashville has lost bridges, missing track.. wash outs and so on. That will be millions in repairs *if* NS decides it is worth it... Sad images out of TN, NC, and SC.

I got a ''Lionel'' 'HO' scale locomotive like that only its black with 'NW' livery the drive train is different from that locomotive shown in the video mine consist of a 'Bachmann' type ''pancake'' motor not that motor that was depicted in the video i do believe the model i have was a late model beautiful thing about it is that the body can easily be swapped out for an Athearn drive train fits like a glove which i did with mine a big improvement replacing that crappy ''pancake'' motor which are notorious when they self destruct when i opened it up service it the motor was toast totally destroyed.

An update for everyone: The Clinchfield is in pretty rough shape. The vast majority of the Blue Ridge Sub between Erwin and Spruce Pine has been washed out or completely swept away, including the iconic bridge at Poplar, NC. The line’s going to be shut down for a long time.

I am horrified of what has happened. It makes me tear up. I was in chimney rock village on May 8th when a huge hail storm hit with my school and again on June 16th going to summer camp. We stopped in chimney rock village for lunch than and they were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I’m heartbroken of the tragedies that happened in WNC. Wishing you prayers Kyle along with the rest of WNC and North East SC.

Research the CSX coal train that ran away on the sandpatch grade in a horrendous snow storm 20 years ago derailing 113 cars, many sold their stock and that today is why the stock and it’s dividend struggles …. The post WW11 era railroaders and knowledge is now gone …NS went into shutdown mode, csx did not and yes the ex-military iron fisted method continues to carry its struggles …I could go on and on and with that good day …

Sweet compilation! That van though. The way it blew through those gates was DANGEROUS! Especially with that curve going down the road, plus it's a hill. Hopefully they didn't crash! Hopefully, God will be with everyone during this time with the hurricane giving us some bad effects. It's pretty scary when we get these types of storms.

Yesterday went to Thurmond in the poring down rain to film the 1776 on a grain train but it whet by 5 mints before we got there and track gang was working on tracks that came off rush run siding right after train pass
