The "Rounders" cookie scene shows that the main character is not good poker player since you just gave away that you have 100% tell on your opponent

Ok, be loose and aggressive instead. You won't last 3 orbits with these RNGs.

I am downvote #14. The words professional and poker player are an oxymoron. They don't go together. It's a fallacy. You can't be a professional gambler. You can be a lucky one. But professional? FFS please.

nah that lost call was atrocious. Hurts to fold the trips there but you only have the 3rd nuts on that flop and that acting job was ridiculous lol

I wuld need a staking for starter , like ifk im amator in sense of bankroll management, i won first place 🥇 at the time like 13,400$ 1 place winner with 1.10$ satelite to win entry on 55$ buy in , and won the tournament after combined 10+ hours idk all sesion of poker that night, it was insane at time because i had no job , but lifestyle i was not stable at that was fatal because everything fall apart because also people find out , i was to excited about that , they don’t understand the poker experience and also i anjoy party also slot machines . but what is the worst part i lost my accout because of my toxic stress with people around that disappointment ifk i wish i took different decisions at time ! poker its a great game of long therm determination to win not necessary play for money mentally but rather play as you enjoy and have that sense of every table to make no mistakes and focus !

My favorite part of the Casino Royale scene is that after Bond wins, he tips the dealer a $500,000 plaque, and the dealer's reaction is a muted, expressionless "thank you sir" instead of "HOLY FUCK HALF A MILLION DOLLARS YOU'VE CHANGED MY LIFE"

How would you classify the classic "Tight Aggressive" player? (plays higher ranges pre flop, plays aggressively post flop. Lots of value bets, bluffs plenty when the story is congruent.. ex: calls a raise with JTs, bets aggro early position on an AK3 flop.) Category 3? that's my style for about an hour typically in a cash game. Then I go about halfway to loose aggro presuming the tight aggro tale has been told sufficiently.

Casino Royale is loaded with coolers. The last hand it is 4 handed and one guy has a flush.... the other 88s full.... bad guy Aces full and Bond a straight flush. That is after Bond got coolered with Kings full of Aces by Quad Jacks. Not very realistic unless you were a regular on Full Tilt before it shut down. I was in line to have a deep run in a 2k field MTT and was second in chips with about 300 people left and got taken out by first in chips guy with quad 55s versus my quad 33s. Flop was like 853 turn 3 river 5.

Coolers like that happen all the time online, not really unrealistic lol

Teddy KGB didn't have anything to do with honor. If he doesn't pay then his whole underground poker operation would get a reputation for not paying when they lose and would fail overnight.

Surely that Lucky You scene would be a TV table where the cards would be known.??. The worst scene in that film is when the old guy slow rolls with straight flush against a lady.. terrible
@chrisi62121 күн бұрын
Literally every one of those scenes breaks some poker rule. But that's not saying much. Since Id say 99% of the time, poker rules are broken in movie/TV poker scenes. The worst one, obviously, the string bet. "I see your $50, and I raise you." Nope. You just called, buddy. Your raise won't stand.
@neilgodfrey266921 күн бұрын
You would think that if Teddy KGB knew Matt Damen had a tell on him he could use that information and do reverse tells with the cookies?? But no.

During the final hand in Rounders, Mike never says "call" when Teddy goes all-in. He just sort of pushes his chips slightly forward and turns over his hand, declaring he has the straight. I don't think that would hold up in most cases, and his hand would be declared dead. Would it not?
@NeuroticNOOB21 күн бұрын
It depends on house rules if there is no betting line I guess. There are rules that consider a forward motion with chips a bet/call. If he goes over a betting line it is definitely a call though. You don't have to announce it verbally. Just flinging one chip into the pot would be fine too.
@NeuroticNOOB21 күн бұрын
Also I don't think your hand is dead if you reveal it in this case. There is no rule against revealing your hand heads up before you make a call.
@augustgreig942021 күн бұрын
Why would your hand be dead? And generally, you don't have to speak at all at the poker table, and since the bet put him all in, if he'd moved even one chip toward the pot and let it go, that would be considered a call. And people turn their hand over in situations like this all the time, and I mean before they even call, to try and get a read or a tell out of their opponent.

Another big issue with Casino Royal is that the dealer shouldn't replace the player's cards with the board cards or combine both. That is a major no no. You put them aside and indicated the best "5 Cards." Saw that in a similar video.

surprised the QQ isn't an induce. if we double 2.25 v 3.5 will give us a good opportunity to win the tournament especially when we have seen him be aggressive. Having said that I know JJ would be a clear rip. If Oya was a much clearer big stack I would rip QQ and would understand this spot better
