Fantastic stuff Liam, many wouldn’t appreciate the effort & time that goes into getting the shot you want. Let alone have the vision & know how of how to achieve it. We done mate, it’s a fantastic image & I’m 100% with you that the final full frame image is a clear winner 🏆 Keep in keeping on mate! Best, Nick

@jacksprat708711 ай бұрын
@@liammedwards Neither. What is the monthly plan cost enabling access to the cell phone network.
@liammedwards11 ай бұрын
@@jacksprat7087 that all depends on what Data provider you go with and how many GB of data you go for. I can’t answer that as every network provider is different and costs are different

@@liammedwards Can someone provide some examples?
@liammedwards11 ай бұрын
@@jacksprat7087 where are you based? In the Uk we have a number of network providers. Any of those network providers do Data only sim cards. All you need to do is go online and search data only SIM cards. There will be a range from 2gb up to 100gb all the information and pricing you need will be there.
@darlastout78311 ай бұрын
Do you have to use the SIM card? We can’t get ours to link up without it.
@liammedwards11 ай бұрын
If it is the Reolink GO PT Ultra that you have then you have purchased the Data SIM card version. Any camera from Reolink that has GO in the name requires a SIM card in order for this to work. It has to have the Sim Card present at all times in order to work.

Brilliant review the plus is some camera and I read some were it can be controlled by Alexa and also has presets as well. Camera needs a nano data sim card to work so you need to find the best deals from your network provider but this is a top camera from Reolink

Hi, great video! What is the minimum focus distance? Do you think it can be used for micro mammals?
@wenxue-ql9ni Жыл бұрын
Awesome info! Question: my nighttime photos came out OOF. My guess is that the camera couldn't focus well during the brief time when the flash went off. The camera was in battery saving mode when the motion sensor was triggered by wild animals. The camera woke up and then tried to focus, giving me OOF pictures. I wonder what the trick is to get in-focus photos. I guess adding a light source helps the camera focus; however, this is not doable when I set up camtrap in the field. Thank you if you can help!!!
@liammedwards Жыл бұрын
It sounds to me like you are using Auto Focus. If this is the case then your images will be out of focus. If you set your lens to Manual Focus. An Aputure of F8 which is usually infinity focus on most lenses. Set your camera trap up where you want your subject to be. Get a stick set it in the frame where you want your animal and manually focus on this. Remove once happen with the focus point and leave as is in Manual. Never use a camera trap in Auto and Auto focus always adjust everything in manual. It is all trial and error. I have found the following works well for night time images. 1/250 shutter F8 Aputure 500/640 ISO 2x flashes, one set to around 1/64 and another around 1/32 with a distance from the subject around 3/4 metres

Ive been testing the Go PT Plus, the battery life on solar in the UK lasts about 14 days max with no features turned on that would drain the battery faster, i have to visit the site with a phone/battery bank, takes about 4 hours to charge from 20%, if the detections good and the little owls are triggering i might consider getting this one, thanks for taking the time to review test and making the videos.
@liammedwards Жыл бұрын
Hi Vin the Kern Ranger is very much the same camera as the Go PT Plus. You will have the same issues with the battery power on this too. At a push I can get around 2 and half weeks. That’s turning it off when we get a good blast of sun light to give it a little top up. I have found the cold weather massively effects the battery life too so that too doesn’t help
@vinwray1732 Жыл бұрын
@@liammedwards thanks for the info, I did try plugging the solar panel into a power bank but it didn't like it, and using the power bank on its own, it turns it's self off, so we're nearly there with this tech, if they could sort out the power issues.

The best camera to cover a wide area. I hope they patented the design because it’s about to become a very popular. It’s hard to see where the cameras blend. The picture is amazingly wide without the fisheye look. My only concern is the camera runs hot even in an air conditioned space.

Just wondering if I have been talking to the wrong people and they just took my ideas and share with the right people??

A couple of questions: Firstly I bought the box you suggested from CPC and the camera with lens doesn’t fit, does your lens protrude out of the box into the drainage tube? How did you fit the filter into the tube? Finally how did you fit the hood to the tube and where did you get this from? Appreciate any feedback Thanks
