Is this setup still available? I have a similar vehicle I only drive a few months out of the year. I'd like to purchase this.

I heard you always need to use the manual override when you boost a 12 V battery on an electric car. Is that true?

@NOCO how to finish charging correctly? remove the plug from the socket? Can I first press the mode button to return to standby and then unplug it from the socket? or maybe something else? in the case of connection, it is simple - first the crocodile clips to the battery and then connect the plug to the power supply and select the mode... but how to safely disconnect/end charging?

Comes with the incorrect cable to charge, it’s just a 2 ended micro usb cable. Also, the booklet that comes with it is completely useless. Not happy.

I bought 2 of these to start a 3L 5 series BMW and both failed. I followed the instructions to the letter with the unit fully charged (green solid light) before attempting. The battery was not even that flat as to my ear the engine was almost starting before using the GB40. Also, the boost was illuminating and the leds chasing so no need for manual override. In my opinion this company is falsely advertising ‘up to 6L petrol’ if it can’t even start a 3L BMW.

What model of noco batery is it??

My noco boost absolutely will not jump start anything unless you are on manual override. 11.9 volts in the battery, hook it up, the connected light is on with the charge lights chasing, and it does nothing. I have to leave one cable unhooked, turn the boost on, put it into manual override, then hook up the other cable in order to get it to jump anything. Wish I would have never bought it.

you are correct! I had AAA come out and it’s just the car alarm system that needed to be turned off with the key fob. Then I was able to proceed with the jump. Happy new year!

if you buy a NOCO Boost Plus GB40 in 2024, note that the USB In to charge it was changed from micro USB to USB-C, and the included charging cable is USB-C on both sides. They didn't bother to update the documentation.

Have had one for at least 3 years now. Have used as a power brick to run a small fan overnight for months. No problems at all and ran it down all the way more than a few times. Have used it dozens and dozens of times to start vehicles with a depleted battery. A few times ignoring the instructions and actually abusing it by not letting it have a break in between numerous attempts to start a vehicle that stalled in a really bad place. Still works fine. Amazing unit for the $100 I paid for it.

I received the GB40, but I cannot charge it. The wire has two identical sides. One side fits into the GB40 USB output jack, but the other end is the same. It lacks a standard USB tip. 😟

I noticed in the instructions that this unit is "only for lead acid batteries". What's with that?? TAKEN FROM THE INSTRUCTION BOOKLET - "Compatibility. The product is only compatible with 12-volt lead-acid batteries only. Do not attempt to use product with any other type of battery. Jump starting other battery chemistries may result in injury, death or property damage. Contact the battery manufacturer prior to attempting to jump start the battery. Do not jump start a battery if you are unsure of the battery's specific chemistry or voltage".

What an awesome video! Took me back to when I was 12 and my dad got me my first bike, a Yamaha mini enduro 60! Best childhood ever! Thanks dad for letting your son be normal! ( childhood accident amputated my left had at 4 years old. It was reattached after many surgeries but I couldn’t pull in clutch. My next door neighbor at 15 already knew how an engine and clutch worked and taught me how to quick shift without using clutch). Being on a motorcycle set me free…

WHERE IS THE FUCKING ADAPTOR to charge it from an outlet? How the fuck does one charge this shit! CRAP. DO NOT BUY. The videos shared also tell you it is better than the other jumpstarter Hulkman because noco has a nice hard case. this crap came with NOTHING. the clamps can ONLY be pressed open by someone built big enough to do so, it is so hard I cannot get it off the little plastic it came holding. This is a piece of shit!!!
