@davidhsu2850 I know but he introduced alot to the all motor gang.. I ran a d16y8 turbo in 01 and a ls/vtec in 02. He still had a big hand in the honda game..of course you were the innovator...well never take that away from you. In 01 I had a d16y7 non vtec sohc mopping up on the streets of providence ri with your parts. My brother ran the y8 turbo and I decide all motor in a gutted 97 dx..

I like when Dave talks on all the lil things add up. Remember when he had the shop in Hayward a guy came in asking how much does it cost to port and polish and Bseries vtec head and how much HP and Dave said 10whp and the guy said wow that's a lot for just that much HP and Dave said it's the lil things that add up and can't look at the HP to Dollars but in this case it's the labor and knowledge one pays for. What I like seeing through the years is what you would see on muscle cars or the V8 race motors is the knowledge being applied to the import motors and that finally people are catching on and that can't look at imports vs domestics and to look for efficiency. Another core memory was I brought my civic with an integra motor to GroupA in Hayward and Wie ( Hope I spelled his name right) was dyno"ing it and I had some cam gears I wanted to try and Dave came out and was super excited and asked is that a ZC motor and was asking questions and it just showed he was super into what was going on and he was saying based on my dyno numbers that it was doing pretty good.

Hi. I'm see on the internet people do swap of the original plástic intake of the 1.7l d17 séries motor (2001-2005) to the Y8 intake. I'm want to know if i'ts possible to put one of this yours intakes on my d17 ?

building allmotor Hayabusa's for quite some time. Simple hot rod trick to unshroud the intake valves, or run a Bigger Intake valve in lieu of increased duration to take advantage of encreased compression thus RPM. We offset the cylinder head, reduce the exhaust valve, and exhaust port, encrease the Intake Valve. We angle mill the piston, to compensate for piston rock, and allow us to run tighter squish on the exhaust pad, and thus allow us to run tighter intake pad. The Intake Pad needs all the help it can get, the Exhaust is already hot. Also slightly taper the squish pads, to prevent trapping at the outer circumference of the pad. VE is everything. We play with port finishing, port tapers to create pressure differentials, the enfamous velocity. Lastly is ram air, i have seen most of the retrofit Airboxes on cars, and they are missing out on massive gains. They should read the papers from Kawasaki from the 1980's on RAM AIR. You want your intake entrance at a Low Pressure Zone, which most do not, unless they have a Wind Tunnel. The exhaust megaphone exist on these cars are a DISASTER, at least for Allmotor. If you should never point the exit perpendicular to 70mph average wind speed, it creates a block effect at the end of your exhaust system, which creates a artificial length to your system. Always exist your exhaust into a LOW """"PRESSURE""" zone. Look at MotoGP, they point the exhaust exit into the undertail of the motorcycle where there is a LOW PRESSURE condition. Absolutely we have cannibalized from all manners of racing.

Can you explain the megaphone being negative part in alil more detail? Every all motor honda car weve put a megaphone section in the header vs it being a straight pipe section has always picked up power.

I never said the megaphone is a detriment, its the positioning of the exit of the megaphone. i noticed a green Civic NA had a fender exit blocked off, and was dumping into somewhere else, which i assume "Low Pressure Zone". As it relates to megaphones, we have tested different tapers on the megaphone along with a reverse cone, the narrower included angle on the mega provides the strongest signal.

The need to talk shit in order to promote your interest is kinda sad... Why talk shit about SpeedFactory? Why talk shit about turbo? Why do you feel the need to justify for several minutes about why you chose all motor? Just stick to what you love and enjoy it, no need to pretend it's superior for like 10 minutes straight. AM, SFWD, XFWD are all cool and interesting classes in their own ways. Don't forget, Skunk2 used to be nicknamed Junk2 for a reason... don't get too high on that horse.
