How fun! What a great surprise. I read Rats of Nimh this year for middlegrade march and gave it five stars. I'm very stingy with my five star ratings, but I was impressed with the writing. First, the author made me care about rats! Hello? LOL And the science experiments. Certain truths made fiction. I remember Angie as Literary Labors too. LOL What a delight.

I just saw this concept last night on Berna's channel. I was planning on doing this as well. Wow~ I had no idea Daphne du Maurier had written so many books. I think I've only read three and dnf'd one. LOL Do you have a plan on how you'll read all of these books?

Mrs Frisby and the Rats of NIMH: I love the movie (trivia time it is I believe the first movie, Don Bluth did after he left Disney), but I also love the book. I can say I do love the book more. Yet, it is probably one of the few times that I would recommend both book and movie.

I can't remember if I mentioned Shady Hollow series, but they are cozy animal mysteries. I think you might like them. I believe there are 5 books in the series. Back in the early 90's I used to watch Ray Bradbury Theater every week HBO. Also if you can, look for the movie The Illustrated Man. I think it was in the 70's or 80's when I saw it.

I love that you are doing a readalong of the Nancy Drew series. Book 5 is my next Nancy Drew. I’ve been enjoying rereading the mysteries. I just recently discovered that Carolyn Keene was not one person but a group of people writing the series under that pseudonym. There is a nonfiction book called Girl Sleuth: Nancy Drew and the Women Who Created Her by Melanie Rehak that I’d like to read that’s about it. I read Call it Courage in 6th grade. My teacher had us do a reading project with it. I remember loving it as a kid. I should reread it now to see if I feel the same way. Nice update, Mitzi! 😊
