This is what ive always strived for in my 20 plus years as a carpenter to my detriment because nobody in north America appreciates quality craftsmanship and just wants production production production!!

Guys knees are gonna be trashed. Not wearing knee pads is wild when you’re doing this every day.

Artisanship. Care. Attention-to-detail, even in the smallest of details. Precision. Hallmarks of any great creator, builder, maker - and architect. A masterful example of Shokunin Kishitsu, translated as “the artisan’s spirit.”

When building with dried vegetable matter, never leave space for expansion, because ambient humidity never changes.

I have to say it in response to the comments and I'm sure Shoyan-san won't see this but!: I just found this channel and I prefer the new voice. It seems SO much more natural than the old voice. I'm amazed at all the people saying they prefer the old one. This voice FITS him. Sadly I can't watch the older videos because of the VO on them sounding not like him at all and it's jarring to me. He doesn't sound British at all lol have you guys ever even heard a Brit talk? I just wanted to leave a positive comment for you guys and the new voice. It's awesome.

What people don't want to understand is that wood needs to breathe , that's why it is a porous material. And if it isn't able to breathe, it will not act like it's supposed to and it can make things go bad, like dry rotting or twist and turning ( depending on the wood species) but it can be just as bad as any other type of rotting. The house has to breathe, to prevent it from from other damages that can't be helped with the fact that it's built with wood witch will swell and shrink with the climate and moisture that it will consume over time. And you will never stop that process! No matter how much you try!

I was taught where the wood touches concrete it needs to be pressure treated or green copper coated to protect against moisture and start rotting.

The level of detail is just amazing. You are using millimeter level of precision using pieces of that blue strap in America. We would've just screwed it down. Wouldn't have been a noticeable difference to us. This is so great. 😀
@inktownbitch215 күн бұрын
Understanding? We do not understand. It is an insult not to see such beautiful work you have robbed and deprived us of seeing you do the framing. Watching a master work and missing out on a part is a slap in the face I will forever be disappointed because I missed a piece of something so beautiful😢

Honor is the quality as I understand it from which the approach to the job comes. A carpenter or tradesman honors the homeowner by doing quality work at a fair price and so the tradesman stays honorable. Anything else is dishonorable.

creating a fully airtight space underfloor will lead to premature failure of the wood oobiki and neda. I do not recommend doing this way. Air circulation is an absolute necessity for underfloor.
