Good stuff. Minor comment: you swap in “is going to be” in place of “is” in places where it’s a little confusing because it seems like you just mean “is”.

As a guitar player, I can play limelight, but when I I try to count it as I'm playing I screw it up. I have to go by feel. This is a good explanation. Still not sure I can count it my head and play it without screwing up though. Lol

The Beatles Yer Blues is a good example of where 8/8 is easier to count. It’s goes from 6/8 to 8/8 and back.

I was just watching you video earlier today on Beatles time signatures! The Beatles and Kings of Leon are probably my two favorite bands (along with Radiohead). In my mind, I've always compared Nathan a bit to Ringo, not because they have a similar drum sound, but because they always bring something unique and memorable to each song. They always serve the song first. Very glad you made this video :)

Gotta say for me the first 4 kol albums are all perfect 10's. One thing besides the drumming that everyone overlooks is the bass playing. Especially as the band progressess.

Well another great episode this definitely opened up KOL for me. Excellent teaching. One request could ever do an episode on John Maher, the Buzzcocks amazing drummer. He could swing the motorik beat ("Fast Cars") make tricky time signatures danceable and maintain perfect time. Much like Alan Meyers , Devo's drummer ( hint hint)

You need to research 8/8. It is the ssme as 8/4, not the same as 4/4. It should have the feel of a 6/8 beat, then two notes added, then repeat. It's has the feel of triplets.
