I love the idea of using squares of different colors to help plan the colors of other projects. Way easier than using a color wheel for color-challenged folk like me. I have loads of scrap yarn to work with. Would you recommend using yarn of the same weight for the squares?? Great, easy-to-understand video. Thanks for sharing.

Thanx for sharing with us & I wish I had room for a big yarn shelf like yours no matter how messy❣️ My husband & I moved from a 3 bedroom house with a full basement to a tiny one bedroom cottage with no basement in the mountains… while I love the area we moved too & cheaper, I have yarn in bins everywhere in my house! 🤣

Sounds like a beautiful place in the mountains! I do feel you on the space thing. My husband and I sold our home on the water to move back to town and downsize, which I have made the second bedroom into my little studio now that the kids are grown. But in the inbetween time, having sold our home but looking for a new home, we ended up renting a VERY small air bnb for the winter on a different body of water, so VERY little room, but beautiful view. Any yarn was stored in big clear bins so I could see what I had lol. When we got this place, my first trip was to our local hardware store to get these shelves to make my dream yarn wall. No regrets, I love having it all where I can see it. ❤

Thank you for this tutorial. However I'm a bit confused reg rounds nine and ten. In your chart that I got from your shop these rounds have chain-one spaces between every sc-stitch but here you seem to skip them. Is this correct and if so why? I haven't got any written text in the purchased version so I can't check it there.

@jspcreate 21 сағат бұрын
For this Square there is an old version and a new version and a youtube tutorial for both. The new version uses the ch 1 spaces and the old version is a solid stitch for these rounds. I'm not sure what pattern you might be looking at, but the only pattern available in my shop has charts in black and white and colour and written patterns for both the new version and the old version.

So glad you like this. I do have all the colours for this particular blanket detailed out in the pdf pattern that I have in my shop, there were alot, 14 in all I think. However, they are all colours that are within the Bernat , Red Heart, Impeccable Yarns, The main colour is parchment by Bernat Premium. Enjoy making your blanket! 😊

I have discovered I have trouble matching colors together, especially since I have to order online & not everything looks the same IRL as it does online. I love the colors you choose to put together & it helps me to see them paired together with other colors… if that makes sense…🥴🤣

The way I like to remember how to do this and the other foundation rows is to tell myself, "pull through one to make chain, then finish the stitch." works for SC, HDC, and DC
@jspcreate
@jspcreate Күн бұрын
Yes, that is a great tip, the first pull through simulates the chain, then the rest is the stitch! Thanks for watching 😊

This was the first ever creation I saw of yours and it's still just as breathtaking now as it was when I first saw it, lovely to see it in different colours! I've just made some of your Little Skye squares to make a cushion cover with, looking forward to trying out some others soon. You do such exquisite work and it always looks so distinctively you, I can always when I'm seeing one of your creations in a video/short just from the thumbnail, always know it's one of yours. 🤗

You're very welcome! I think it's a combination of things that make your look specific to you, which are things like your colour combinations which you have an exquisite knack for, the stitches you choose and how you combine them as well, the shapes even, don't know specifically and you change things up all the time, it never gets boring, but you have a lovely unique way of putting things together that just makes them your work and something you should be very proud of! Thanks so much for sharing this with the rest of us, so incredibly helpful! 🤗

Thank you, Jane. This is fabulous. This join can be used with practically any granny square, and I love the look of it. I have also modified this join slightly by going up a hook size (or two) and doing: “Single crochet, chain ONE, single crochet.” One other point of praise….Your generosity of spirit shines through. 💕✨✨
@jspcreate
@jspcreate Күн бұрын
So glad you like it. Yes, I encourage everyone to try different numbers of chains etc, as we all crochet differently. Some days I crochet tight and some days looser, so often I even have to change hook size to get the same tension or effect on different days lol. Thanks so much for watching.

Très élégant! How do you secure the join (joins) when going on with the following since it can be quite heavy-handed for the poor stitches?
@jspcreate
@jspcreate 4 күн бұрын
I have started showing this in newer videos, but basically I bring the yarn back up through the "fake" stitch I just made from below, then go backwards one stitch and go back down. This creates a little loop / knot that secures the end before you darn the rest of it in. Thanks for watching! 😊
