Garcia worshipped the ground Lennon walked on. On the flip side Lennon never would’ve demanded a “louder guitar” than Jerry’s. That doesn’t even make sense. Also remember around this time in1975 Lennon had zero ego with performing & was struggling with social anxiety bc he hadn’t performed in a long time & because he had stopped using heavy drugs. As to the reason why Lennon didn’t come back the next day I’d put my money on him trying to maintain his sobriety which it sounds like he’d relapsed the night before with Jerry (this is right when he started using heroin on a daily basis & that was Lennon’s favorite drug). Edit: I could be wrong on this but I think Lennon was at this concert.
