Is TGTB math going well? I am considering switching to it for my first grader. What we are using is great just too teacher intensive and stressful for me as a soon mom of six kids about to have a C-section. I want to do what’s best for my child but I also need something I can handle and keep up with. We have a lot going on at once right now and I need to simplify however possible.

We switched to math mammoth for 3rd grade math since it's mastery based so my daughter does the same thing over and over until she masters it. We love Homeschool Planet! I am finishing up putting in the curricula lesson plans that are not for sale. It was so amazing when I figured out how to do a week A and a week B schedule looping different curricula. I print a weekly view for my folder and the daily for my daughter. @@blessedhomeschoolmess I only need to loop a couple of programs. One is EIW we need to finish grade 2 and start grade 3. I made two classes Writing A 2 and Writing B 3. I am also looping AAR level 4 and AAS. So I have Reading A and Reading B. After I have all the classes created with the lesson plans and on the schedule I click on each to edit. 1st click on the underlined CHANGE SCHEDULE then click Change Schedule other ways then click on the drop down menu and hit: custom schedule. There you will find a box to click to make the class every other week. Just make sure you have the start day correct. So with class A I would have it start the first week of school and Class B I would start it the following week. I have no idea if there is another work around but that is what I found at 2am when I was trying to make a loop type schedule. Good luck!

I just came across your channel. Girl thank you so much for your real talks on your struggles and sharing your homeschool journey with us! I’ve watched a bunch of your videos in a row. I’m going into our 3rd year homeschooling. I recently had my youngest diagnosed with Autism so this year I have learned so much and went through all the emotions and worry. Since becoming more educated in the Neurodivergent world it has came to my attention my older children share some same characteristics and myself! It’s eye opening. Lately my 7 year old has been fighting me hard on school so it’s been a struggle for my sanity. We have no structure which is my fault but I’m on the way of changing it for all of us. Thank you for your videos. It’s nice to not feel like I’m alone in how I’m feeling on this journey. I think you’re doing a great job and you shouldn’t feel bad about going back to TGTB because it’s what your child needs and wants. We also use it and I’ve been worried he’s fighting me so much because it looks overwhelming by the busy pages even though it’s not.

Do you use this with the Reading Skills curriculum or as a stand alone? I’m so glad you covered this and would love for you to cover more of the Purposeful Design curriculum. I bought this last year and loved the content but it was so confusing to me what to use and how that we didn’t get through much and are starting again with the same level. I bought the Reading Skills, Language and Writing, Mos Dos and Spwlling Plus and I think I overlapped so could you possibly discuss the options? Do u need it all n if not what exactly do we need? @@MistyMcBee mosdos is strictly reading but easy to pull your own spelling words from it but it’s reading and comprehension with story elements, I personally can’t use that for all of LA components. I’m not sure what you mean by use this with reading skills curriculum? Or what purposeful design is?
@MistyMcBee
@MistyMcBee 26 күн бұрын
@@blessedhomeschoolmess ok so maybe the Mos Dos and Purposeful Design/ ACSI are two different curriculums altogether. The Mos Dos is offered on the ACSI Publishing Website so I thought they were the same company and curriculum. So Purposeful Design offers an ELA curriculum which consist of a Reading Skills workbook and Literature and Writing workbook, but then they also offered Spelling Plus which overlaps language and writing a bit and MOS DOS which I’m feeling like is the same as the Reading Skills. I bought them all lol because they were all listed together as the language arts but maybe I should have purchased one or the other. I’m sorry to be so confusing lol I’m confused myself. Hopefully this can bring someone else some clarity as it really is a wonderful program just confusing lol I’ll post pics of the ACSI /Purposeful Design. We almost decided on traditional school this year. It really is difficult, much more that I ever thought. We are going to stick with homeschooling at least one more year. I realized that the issues we have would exist whether we sent her to school or homeschooled, so traditional school isn't necessarily the solution to our ADHD obstacles. I find there is a fine line between a small break and too much of a break, otherwise we get completely derailed!
