Thats not safe. My friend did this with a cute little cup like that and a larger one with a small painted metal bucket both from dollar tree. The mug exploded and the bucket caught completely on fire, catching her living room on fire and almost burned her house down. Please dont do this. Candles are made with safe glass thats heat resistant. Especially the paint can catch fire.
