Thanks. I used Assimil for Russian also but long ago. It's useful for collocations and learning some funny expressions etc. The Be Fluent in R guy has done a nice video called 'How to Make Amazing Flashcards with Anki, and I hope to follow his suggestions, which include use of images. I was doing this 10 years ago with Pimsleur and Anki. Actually, I was using Jmemorize before Anki existed but it didn't have sound. I simply dragged and dropped the text and ripped the audio with Audacity.

The sentences in glossika are awful. Why are people so into it? Decontextualized, cultureless, and lots of errors. Even the English prompts contain errors!

You could also copy all of this into anki right away. No need to pick up the book every time.

What I started doing is putting the first ASSIMIL exercise of each lesson in ANKI, and I put the second exercise of each lesson on CLOZEMASTER. . . I do glossika as well mainly for listening and pronunciation, but I’ll Anki SOME of the sentences, or some valuable vocabulary.

The most effective way ever? Sorry, but this is not the most effective. You are missing a big part of the learning process - emotions and experiences, which you don't get when you go over vocabulary this way. Language is not learned but acquired.

I use to do the same but cutting the audio with Quicktime on Mac. Now I just use the built-in text-to-speech feature :) Much faster!
