Why are cutting off your own words when editing? If you get a bad take, do it over. The editing on this is terrible because you're cutting off your own instructions.

Do you really think the folks who engineered that scooter left the engine short of cooling air flow? It has a duct system with a spinning fan pushing air all over the hottest parts of the engine from the side. All around the cooling fins. Open that door under the seat as you suggest could interrupt the air to the engine cooling fan inlet on the side. Are you an aerodynamics engineer by trade? Seems like YOU found a big mistake on the building of this scooter to not even put vents on that plastic door if it need them? You should contact all the scooter manufactures with your scientific findings as most scooters are made that way. Ever engineer anything yourself? Or you just make video's? Did you even test this idea?? Be nice to share the before and after temperature readings you got, of say the engine oil with the door on and off see if it helps cool anything or makes no difference at all. oh right it just makes common sense, yeah engineer's spent years in college and just forgot to leave air vents in that door..... face palm.

Just did this on an explorer it came out well but with regard to running the bolts through the arms after you thread them through the black rubber mounting brackets/cleats I just uaed a heavy duty zip tie instead and wrapped them back around the arm. Saved me some time and frustration. Let the vinyl cement cure (hang out in the open air) before you try to glue on the cleats (hes calling them patches) and use some masking tape to hold them in place. GREAT. VIDEO OP!

The GY6 is a fan-forced air cool design. The engine will get plenty of cooling air without removing that front cover. They aren't at all like finned air cooled engines that depend on the vehicle moving to keep air flowing over them. You could leave a properly running GY6 idle for hours and it wouldn't overheat.
@butchgarner39112 жыл бұрын
he has cut the shroud around the spark plug to make it easy access and "better cooling" the forced air cooling has been compromised on his. I would not suggest cutting or removing any of the cooling shroud. getting the plug in and out is easy as it is. I think and may be wrong but, the hole in the side of the plastic that has been cut is cancelling the forced air that would have been blown thru the fins of the cylinder and head at a stand still. Nice looking bike, I like it! If you do start to find you have overheating issues, I would get a new top piece for the one you cut to start the troubleshooting.

Im not trying to be rude but TaoTao scooters are horrible in terms of quality control, the issue with these is that one might be great and run forever and another one will have a severe defect that kills the engine forever within the first 500 miles. Thast why you see so many horror stories with people who had TaoTao scooters, I had 2 TaoTao scooters and both never lasted more than 800 miles before the motors blew up on both of them.
