Now that it's been a bit over three years how is your scooter doing now? I always hear people knocking scooters from China so I'm interested in it's longevity. Have you done any adjustments like on the valve clearance etc? Would love to hear how it is going in the long run. Best regards and here's to safe and fun riding!
@cobrafied6 жыл бұрын
Hey buddy. I sold it after this video. I've heard of people's Chinese scooters going past 50,000 miles. You need to change the oil a little more frequent than what honda recommends for 150cc. The engine metal quality is not as well thus frequent changes prevent engine wear. I have done valve adjustments on a 50cc before and it was flippin easy, there are youtube videos for that too. Have no fear! I'm currently doing a tune up on a Aprillia Scarabeo 150cc watercooled that I picked up for a few hundred bucks!.. hopefully were both on the road soon! See ya
@blazeorangeandcamo3 жыл бұрын
The GY6 is a fan-forced air cool design. The engine will get plenty of cooling air without removing that front cover. They aren't at all like finned air cooled engines that depend on the vehicle moving to keep air flowing over them. You could leave a properly running GY6 idle for hours and it wouldn't overheat.
@butchgarner39112 жыл бұрын
he has cut the shroud around the spark plug to make it easy access and "better cooling" the forced air cooling has been compromised on his. I would not suggest cutting or removing any of the cooling shroud. getting the plug in and out is easy as it is. I think and may be wrong but, the hole in the side of the plastic that has been cut is cancelling the forced air that would have been blown thru the fins of the cylinder and head at a stand still. Nice looking bike, I like it! If you do start to find you have overheating issues, I would get a new top piece for the one you cut to start the troubleshooting.

First, I realize this video is a few years old. I assume the reason you would want a 125cc or 150cc scooter over a 50cc is better acceleration and higher speed, correct?....yet nobody seems to mention what to expect as far as performance: best cruising RPM and how fast will they go. Also, it’s seems many people buy these less expensive, Chinese scooters then put upgraded transmissions or larger bore kits, to get better performance/more speed, yet nobody seems to discuss those either: which upgrades give you the best bang for the buck, which are recommended to do first, and how do they effect performance. Not trying to be a dick, I’m just disappointed to not find those answers, and I can’t be the only one interested in those things, as I feel performance is the most important consideration after all. Otherwise, everyone would just buy 50cc scooters.
@cobrafied5 жыл бұрын
You're best bang for the buck would be variator weights and springs which could allow rocket takeoff but may effect top end, theres info out there for gy6. 150cc stock does about 55mph, comfortable about 45. You could do a open air cone and upgrade your main jet for maybe 60mph, im sure theres info out there. or to go 70mph there is info on the net about bore kits for the 150cc gy6, install info and reliability. kzbin.info/www/bejne/any1nKWZiJqnraM

Do you really think the folks who engineered that scooter left the engine short of cooling air flow? It has a duct system with a spinning fan pushing air all over the hottest parts of the engine from the side. All around the cooling fins. Open that door under the seat as you suggest could interrupt the air to the engine cooling fan inlet on the side. Are you an aerodynamics engineer by trade? Seems like YOU found a big mistake on the building of this scooter to not even put vents on that plastic door if it need them? You should contact all the scooter manufactures with your scientific findings as most scooters are made that way. Ever engineer anything yourself? Or you just make video's? Did you even test this idea?? Be nice to share the before and after temperature readings you got, of say the engine oil with the door on and off see if it helps cool anything or makes no difference at all. oh right it just makes common sense, yeah engineer's spent years in college and just forgot to leave air vents in that door..... face palm.

locate the airbox as shown in the video, there is a hole you can spray starting fluid in the hole which should create the vacuum needed the get the fuel through the system to the carburator. you can get starting fluid at the auto parts store. spray it in or around the air box intake, it evaporates quickly so spray for about 5 seconds so ensure the scooter can breathe it in while you attemp to start it.

No it didn't look clean , without the trunk the scooter didn't look good ! in my eyes !

I also much prefer them with the trunk and stock mirrors. I accessorised my blue Lancer with chrome foot rests. Looks awesome.

Nope that's by far the worst Chinese scooter yet the 2 best is the powermax 150cc and the Challenger 150cc they will blow that thing away in every way possible hands down.
@cobrafied6 жыл бұрын
Wrong. Those scooter mentioned both only have one shock, no projection head lighting, and less features with the same engine.
@trapp77635 жыл бұрын
True. They come with like 10 horsepower. The one in the video is like 7. Lancer is trash and heavier. Ive owned all 3 brand new. Challenger and Powermax will blow all stock 150cc away!!!

@@trapp7763 My 2019 Lancer is 10 horsepower and it's gorgeous. Nothing online does these scooters justice when seen in person. Big, plush and so comfy. These are the scooter version of a "cruiser bike." I absolutely LOVE mine.

lmao why would someone need a motocycle liscense they look just like a 49cc
@cobrafied8 жыл бұрын
you could put any sticker over the 150cc and they can't legally make you rip it off. They have to measure engine capacity or maybe find the 150cc stamp on the engine to give you a ticket but they can't disassemble your bike to find it. They need to prove it and that likely wont happen. Just say its a modified 50cc if you're pulled over for speeding above the 30mph limit for 50cc scooters. He will maybe tell you to register it since it exceeds limits or to take the modifications off and give you a warning.

One problem with that. Insurance cards indicate the CC amount.
