This is dope. I'm hoping to make one really soon, but with wood from old Pallets.

You didn't attach the cabinets to the back wall? They are just stacked up on each other basically?
@SatisfyDIY14 күн бұрын
Correct. They are stacked and fastened to the side walls/bed frame/toe kick.

I just used the legs that came with the Murphy bed kit.

Great vid. In my head i was picturing around €300-€400 for timber but then mine was going to be very basic. I like your finish though, definitely going to take some inspiration from it.

Question ! How far should the backing stud from the finishing wall ?
@SatisfyDIY14 күн бұрын
Excellent question. And not one I know the answer to off the top of my head. Just gauged it with the valve

I love the work you did, I love the 3D effect. It matches paint we used for our wall. But our wall is not near as awesome as yours, we just did 1x3's. But it turned out nice, not as awesome as yours. Great job. Thank you for sharing...!!!

How did you build those cabinet doors? Given how you are assembling them, it looks like they may be prefab? If so, let me know where you got them, they look great!

Need a steel doorway. Nobody can penetrate with bullets. If someone breaks in they'll be packing and you need camera that run on Lithiom batteries.

Is the bed strong enough in the middle? Is it deflexing in the middle? I think the support beams are too small in height to prevent bending in everyday use.
@ericrodman25373 ай бұрын
Great video! Definitely one of the better ones I've watched. Thank you for the pro tips on cabinet pulls. I noticed that a lot of people don't paint the interior of the murphy bed cabinet - why is that? Also, have you considered changing the headboard? One other thing, what did you do about your baseboards? Cut them off for flush mounting, or angle cut around them?

Am sure I will also find a few ' pitfalls' of my own but feel encouraged enough to have a go. Many Thanks. Ps thanks also to the people asking good questions .
