Did u not read the dimensions of the tent before you bought it? It will have told you the exact size of it and its not to stand up in mate its to lie down and sleep in .and the ridge line wouldnt burn and collapse the tent as the chimney is set away from the centre where the ridge line would be..i quite like the tent certainly looks the part nice colour too 😊 i think youll grow to like it mate and it has gaps underneath like u say but heat rises and will circulate round the tent youll suffocate without the gap lol.will look forward to your overnighter mate dont give up on it bud 😊

Cheers benny I didn't check the size actually my bad but I'll give it a chance as everyone said Might grow to like it . ATB Sam 👍

Nice set up you've got there, hopefully it will grow on you so to speak, only time will tell how long it will last,you just need to sort out your sleep system and off you go,at least there's vents so that should help with condensation,that burrito mre meal is lovely its one of my favourites 👍

I watched this yesterday to the point at 23 minutes where you said " i give up " You are giving off all the signs of preparation for your camp . The test setup etc . Its all going one direction and i see you spending a hard night out in this tent. But camping is hard . I actually enjoy being awake all night fighting the elements , watching recruns of apollo 13 and lads freezing to death in space capsules . . Youve done a great test here. You could boil kettles all night , do your live , maybe get a sleep if you are lucky 😂 . The small tent is all about heat , not comfort . As you say you can easily get in there with all your gear . Dont give up on this tent . Get home and attach loads of guy lines to it and find a spot where nobody can bother you . This was a good dry run .

Hello Sam. I consider myself proven wrong. It is a functional hot tent. And it didn't melt down, suffer any popped seams or pull itself to pieces under the stress of its own poles (like mine did). As you're a fellow of six foot plus, I can see your consternation regarding the height and the air vent / chimney positioning. I would be tempted to say that this model is a hastily modified teepee design in response to the current trend for Hot tents. The teepee is an easy design to modify, as it is constructed from panel sections. By removing two or three panels, you can include the second door which essential for safety. The exhaust port's location next to the original door (with the tie back toggle) is probably due to the inadequacy of the existing ventilation. I don't think these are any larger than those included in the original teepee design. As you rightly said Sam, It is a bit too small to be a hot tent. The absence of a ground sheet and the gaps with the ground around the circumference could make it drafty. It will at least allow airflow; crucial against carbon monoxide poisoning. I don't think this was a very well thought out product, but it is, for better or worse, capable of housing a woodstove and chimney. It packs down small as well. And for a sub £70 price tag, its not bad. It may have flaws, but it does have claws. Hopefully, you can cook out of the reach of the weather and dry off at the same time. What did it say about its hydrostatic rating? Also, regarding seating. How about one of those floor folding beach chairs? Sorry, I am rattling on again.
@Yorkshireoutoorsandsurvival4 күн бұрын
Hi nick it's ok mate you rattle away I did.lol that tent is just so odd as in the design of it how very bizarre.. but fortunately I have seen a proper hot tent on Amazon which is the one I should have got to begin with.. it's 7 ft tall. And about 13/15 foot circumference on the ground.£99 . I'm getting it in march.. cheers mate ATB Sam 👍

There is room in there to be able to sit on my OEX chair. That's a plus for me 😂 I think it is better than the visions I had in my head after reading daft hats comment. An idea with the stove jacks would be to circle round the chimney pole and cut out at home for the perfect fit? Just a suggestion. It does have its flaws but its something i'd be able to cope inside in bad weather. Thanks for sharing. 👍🫡

Hey, Paul. I was originally worried about the quality of the stitching. I had a Hooped bivvy and its poles tore it apart. A teepee doesn't have those stresses to the same degree. I think Mceto is one of those companies that produce cheap copies (and sometimes downright counterfeits) of popular designs, to meet upcoming market trends. I wouldn't like to speculate on its waterproof properties, but I'm guessing they're not brilliant.
