Nice demo, thanks for your efforts! I remember about 10 to 15 years ago, boutique cables were all the rage… then the online chatter seemed to simmer down. I recently did a little comparison myself (ProCo, Evidence, Colossal, Sommer, etc.) and yes, you can hear a difference.… For me most pronounced when playing clean in a quiet room. But in the big scheme of things, IMO probably makes for a little difference for tone, for most people.

Maybe Dachman & GTZ is worth adding to the comparison. I purchased a Dachman & WA R2 . Sold the WA & the next is Dachman. I guess U87 doesn’t suit my voice. Telefucen copper & U47 & U67 sounds better packing more punch!

They're plugged in. Videos are never done the same time as the DI recordings. Video is strictly to have something interesting to look at. Our Acoustic Impulse line launched almost 10 years ago now. We continue to use those same DIs for consistency and it's what our customers are used to hearing for comparisons of new models. Acoustify is an IR loader for our Acoustic Impulse products.

@@JoeQuick oh I know your products well I bought some over the years. I was just curious about the video. I thought it was showing the actual playing while recording.

@@Rob-ym Nope! You're just hearing the recorded DIs being processed through Acoustify with the loaded Acoustic IR model that's shown on screen, then bypassed to hear the DI, then back to Acoustify. If you're curious about what pickups were used on everything, all the steel string acoustic demos are recorded with a Yamaha LL6M with the stock piezo. All the nylon string acoustics are recorded with the Kremona that's used in the video with a Fishman AGX piezo. Cellos are Headway the Band 2. Violins are ISI Aceto. Uprights are Fishman Full Circle. Ukes are the stock piezo on the Islander in the video. Mandolins are the stock piezo on the Fender in the video. Banjos are the KNA BP1 on the Harmony model in the video.
