Just got the Taylor 610 impulse on a whim. I play a Martin 00015m and I really appreciate the different bass response options. The mahogany can be boomy at times. Anyway, I’ll be picking up the rest and the cleaner guitar cabs. Your stuff is leagues better then I’ve ever heard. It’s a godsend for live stuff and sounds amazing by itself or blended with a decent condenser for recording. Thanks!

I use Bias FX 2 Pro & use the amp bypassed with the IR loader along with a touch of compression, reverb & delay. Sounds remarkably well being played through a Kiesel 8 String. I tend to use the neck & middle on the pickups. You can also use any other IR loader available. 3 Sigma & Ignite Amps both make plug-ins that you can load any acoustic IR.... Highly recommend.

Can you describe which combination? of IRs you used in the D45 demo? What was the total chain? I notice that I hear a little more sound of the piezo compared to your demos when using the IRs in the Axe Fx II and the NadIR
@JoeQuick8 жыл бұрын
All the demos are just one A version impulse with no post. Be sure to set the length in NadIR to extreme or use a reverb impulse loader, as shortening the acoustic impulses will remove alot of the room which is essential for realistic sound for these.

Great! So I have a custom, limited run, Taylor 516 that has a very unique sound compared to other Taylor guitars. The jackson demo that you have seems ok but not as good as the acoustic electric demo that you have. Is there a way of getting the same sound quality out of an Electric guitar?

We throw the magnetic pickup electric emulation in just as an extra little goodie. If you wanted studio quality acoustic sound from an electric you would need a piezo equipped electric. Hope this helps!

Do you happen to know how well this works with various hardware IR loaders? For example, I've been planning to buy/saving for an Atomic Amplifire (though now the Amplifire 12 has been announced I may end up trying to stretch my budget to that). Do you happen to know if its IR capabilities would work well for these IRs? I gig live, so the prospect of this is pretty exciting. If I can't kill two birds with one stone by buying the Amplifire, can you suggest anything that will work well that won't cost me an arm and a leg?
@JoeQuick8 жыл бұрын
They work great with Amplifire and any hardware loaders! Amplifire is a great unit we definitely recommend in general also! There are cheaper little loader pedals but all they do is load impulses. Amplifire is best bang for your buck for sure.

@JoeQuick8 жыл бұрын
Just so you are aware if you do get the Amplifire you have to boost the volume with them a fair amount. This isn't a fault of the Amplifire it's just how IR loaders interpret and normalize acoustic IR's. Most of our users are using an EQ with no frequency changes and just using it as a volume boost to get to their desired level.

The acoustic demonstrations sound really good, the electric ones don't sound even nearly as good because the sound of the electric guitar pushes through the IR in not a good way. It seems to be a pretty neat pack of IR's still for sure!
@JoeQuick8 жыл бұрын
We just put out an update that improves the electric simulation! But yes electric magnetic pickups can only sound so good/so much like an acoustic. We put it in there just for people to have options. However, if your electric has a piezo system people are getting awesome results with that!
@nmdpa38 жыл бұрын
Really looking forward to trying these with a PRS Hollowbody II with both a dedicated piezo and two PRS 57/08's. The piezo and 57/08s have separate 1/4 out jacks. Run the PRS to a Helix using the GTR IN for the 57/08's out and the AUX IN for the peizo out (using the IR on this patch) and then run as a stereo signal to a Gemini 2 FRFR. Have been trying to nail both that clean acoustic and dirty electric sound with a single guitar and single backline FRFR. Hopefully no more guitar switching between acoustic and electric during sets.
@harryharris16192 жыл бұрын
The levels between the DI and the IR are not matched at all. The DI is lower level while the IR is at a higher volume. That is not really a fair comparison.

STRUM the Electric Guitar RARRRRGHHHH STRUMMMM
@cyrusadkisson68645 жыл бұрын
Yeah was just thinking this. My (educated) guess (from playing around with these) is they avoided it on purpose because it sounds awful. I'm further guessing that there must be some physical action (not necessarily audio) differences between the two guitar types that can't be easily simulated out. A single pick/pluck sounds decent. But strumming sounds like a bunch of plucks mashed together. It doesn't sound like a "strum".
