Ah, the Don't You (Film Us Onstage) leg of the tour, here and Nurburg Rock Am Ring and famously Ibrox. Almost every act at Rock Am Ring has RTL footage sans SM, glad they got a bit looser in the 90s onwards.

I was 16 at the time, still listening to 80's (good) music.

Thanks for this. It was a moment in time that shall live with me to my dying day. Recall it being a hot day, Cult were crap like others have said. Waterboys lifted the roof with everyone up dancing for Whole of the moon and the minds were at there best. Just turned 60 and so wish i could turn the clock back to that Saturday, happy days.

Real to real is one of my favourite simple minds albums along with sons and fascination/ sister feeling call brilliant

Live in the city of lights should of put some of Jim interaction with the crowd to make it less over produced but it still became a number 1 album thanks for sharing

The Joshua Tree was released 2 years after this song was premiered at Live Aid. The guitar sounds a lot like "Streets".

If only they chose to experiment further with this vein of sound? It’s definitely their most experimental phase, this record and SAF are by far my favs. Even now it’s not dated.. timeless music. Class. 👌🏻🩷
