I first heard of the Waterboys when a free Toronto weekly known as NOW was doing a review of the best recordings of the year. I went out and bought Fisherman's Blues. I have enjoyed their music ever since hearing the band's cover of Van Morrison's Sweet Thing.

This was the 36th time I had seen The Waterboys live and it seemed to get better every time. However there were some more astonishing gigs to come. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve now seen them and there’s more to come.
