@WalterCoulede
@WalterCoulede 6 ай бұрын

The arrangement you have for the flames in your final version is extremely inefficient. Ideally you really want the flame under the hot end, so you would be best putting it on its side again. That way you'd be able to get away with a narrower wick and it would be more efficient, and the cold side vanes would work better as well as it would easier for air to flow between the vanes. So overall you'd have greatly increased efficiency.

Brilliant :) Are the weights staying down-most into the wheels? By sliding in an internal circular slot? Yhanapartou is in India, right? :D
@WalterCoulede
@WalterCoulede 11 ай бұрын
Thank you. Yes, in a wheel, the weight hangs to the inner rim center, via a ball bearing. A pin connects the weight to the hub as an anti-rotation system, so the weight always points the lowest level. Yanhapartou sounds like an indian village, but i invented this name. This play on words only works in french...😇

Make four circular wick burners around the upper part of four engine heads (like a halo of flame) to reduce heat loss to the atmosphere. The circular burners will provide heat all around the head and not just at one small surface. You can further retain heat by supplying a copper plate circular hat above the burner and engine head to retain the heat down wards and not just heating the air above. Make sure the hat is connected to the engine head so that the heat from the cap is transferred to the engine head. This way a very small flame will give best energy efficiency due to reduced heat loss and heat will be applied where it matters.

I suspect that at least half the beauty in this project is in the simplicity of his work. They were designed for an alcohol burner... this works with 4 alcohol burners! Beautiful job!

Suggestion (if you're still messing around with this in the first place) Shorten the wick tubes by ~25% slightly increasing the gap between the wicks and the heat pistons, then rotate the engine about the crankshaft axis such that the wick tubes are more vertical (and therefor under the heat piston). See if that increases the performance. Nice job overall!
@dubchicrosa
@dubchicrosa Жыл бұрын
Super vraiment !

@WalterCoulede
@WalterCoulede Жыл бұрын
Bonjour.
