It's 2024 and the website idea may no longer work: "Google has placed restrictions on advertising for certain types of electronics repair businesses through Google Ads. This policy is primarily focused on third-party technical support services for consumer electronics. The key reason behind this restriction is to protect users from misleading ads and fraudulent practices that have been reported in the past in the electronics repair industry. In 2018, Google introduced a ban on ads for third-party tech support services, which affected businesses offering repairs for products like smartphones, computers, and other consumer electronics. However, the policy allows authorized repair centers and manufacturers to advertise repair services. The intent behind this restriction is to ensure that only credible and legitimate businesses are allowed to advertise their services, reducing the risk of scams and subpar service providers that could mislead customers. Some repair businesses have been able to continue advertising by becoming certified or partnering with authorized repair programs like those offered by manufacturers such as Apple or Samsung. Others may use organic SEO strategies to reach customers instead of relying on paid Google Ads. If you run or plan to start an electronics repair business, you might need to explore alternative ways to reach potential customers, such as through local SEO, social media marketing, or by becoming an authorized repair center."

I can't express how motivational your videos and repairs are, especially for someone who loves consoles & gaming so much. Hope you're doing well rn and winning the battle vs cancer, I'm really sorry since i heard the news & i really hope you'll recover fully and be well.

I have an idea for your room to organize your repair tools. I repair consoles too and I make use of the ikea skadis system to neatly organize all my tools on the wall. I also bought a 3d printer, so I could print special fitting attachments for the tools to attach them to the skadis pegboard. It works great! Much recommended. If you have any questions let me know :)

I know this is an old video, but I'm coming up on my highschool graduation soon in may and im looking for something to start and found your channel and the restoration channel, and I began studying your videos and im about to start my own business right now I'm starting out with controllers since i only have those tools to clean up and repair, but I'm having some doubts since i don't have a main source of income and I'm hoping this will work and profit from this, would there be any good background knowledge before such as certain college classes/ certificates i would need to have to be successful?

I was just gonna ask a quick question I’ve been doing soldering for 3540 years probably even more than that and I have the worst luck. We’ve always use Weller. I have tried some of the big, soldering consoles, and they always go dead on me, and like a year, what do you recommend as far as soldering iron? Do you use the console with a heat gun I’d appreciate some help because I needed to get a new one so bad and I just don’t wanna waste another hundred dollars again

I Steve! I just started watching you doing repairs a couple weeks ago. I am fascinated and love electronics I just don’t have a lot of education. When I was younger, I used to solder towers, now I’m 50 and collect gaming systems. I would like to sort out how to repair anything electronics right now I have started a project working on a coleco, modding RF to composite rca. Installing ground controller parts that sort of thing. My question is what kind of education do you have? How much will i need to “study” to keep up or will learning basic component identifying and watching lots of videos

It's thanks to you, Steve, and My Mate Vince I got into repairing stuff, gaining more confidence and experience with for example a soldering iron I started to repair and mod video game consoles and now been selling a bunch of old consoles for some nice juicy profits. I'm still doing this for a hobby and never really intend to make it into a business. It's nice to do something I love for a hobby ánd bringing in some money while doing so. Thanks, Steve <3

Steves videos are very good to learn from, I watched one and was able to get a Xbox one x to work. I was walking home, person was tossing it and a 65 inch Google tv. A friend brought them over for me, I got both working, I even put “ the right amount of thermal paste on!! As for tv, I spent 16 for a board, works

I really love the tour video! It is quite the setup and looks really cool in the video shown. I have watched quite a few of your videos and have really enjoyed being able to see the scope of your business going from startup to where it is now. Out of curiosity, do you know how much time it took for you to progress from being just a solo businessman doing repairs to feeling like it was too much to do that and shipping, and hiring out your mother-in-law to help out with shipping? Thanks!

Unless you want to work at DKOldies as a suggestion is that you must try cleaning inside and out, refurbishing and repairing game consoles and their controllers. I noticed many unhappy dissatisfied people felt DKOldies ripped them off with such lies. Please try your best is that I know you are truthful, loyal, and honest making sure you know how to do them professionally, including cleaning all game console insides with isopropyl alcohol.

Just came upon this, and I've been looking at starting my own side gig restoring and flipping old gaming consoles to help me through university, namely gameboys and other classic handhelds but other classic consoles are cool too. I hold a particular attachment to consoles from the mid 90s to 2010 or so as I grew up with them. I'd even love to learn to code my own games for them. I'm really eager to see how I can use my 3D printers and CNC machine to help make some crazy cool customized gameboys. Working with circuit boards is also very fascinating to me. However I also know Nintendo especially can be nasty with people tampering with their consoles for profit... What would your advice be?

Do you think it gave people that medium to see your work and give them more trust? Very inspiring to find this video. I watch you’re other channel frequently.
