Love this! I'd would love to see a tutorial on how you do your art quilts. I am so interested in this medium for all the art in my head! Funny you live in Fredericksburg. I used to live there too! 2 years ago we moved to the Shenandoah Valley. I'm also covered in ink and feel like wow I found someone like me that sews lol! I love your Valkyrie quilt! I wish I could afford it right now! It's beautiful and right up my alley! I hope to see more videos from you soon!

I love your tutorial, but I must be getting old. I love the top of the apron, but you don't say how to do it in inches.

A cucuzza recipe from my Italian MIL.... Giambotta - Italian Vegetable Stew (pronounced Jumbot) This recipe makes large pot. Ingredients 1/4 cup olive oil 5 cloves garlic, chopped 1 cup onions, chopped 4 potatoes, peeled and cubed 1 CUCUZZA gourd, peeled, sliced into 1/4"discs or cubed into 1.5 inch pieces 2 cups bell pepper, chopped Salt and pepper, 1 bay leaf 1 (28-ounce) can diced tomatoes (OR fresh tomatoes and 1/2 cup pasta sauce) 2 cup stock, chicken or vegetable (boullion okay) 12 eggs Directions In a large soup pot, add olive oil, chopped garlic and onions and let them sweat out on low while you prepare the rest of the veggies. Work next to the stove and drop as you chop, in order of longest cooking time: potatoes, cucuzza, and bell pepper. Season with salt and pepper, bay leaf, cover and cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Uncover and add tomatoes and stock and simmer until veggies are almost done. Lastly, drop in 12 eggs on top of stew on low boil for the last 12 mins. Do not mix. You want eggs to hard-boil in place. Done. Options-- You can .... Substitute zucchini in place of cucuzza, Add sausage or meat of your choice, Add jalapenos to give a little kick if you like, or hot sauce to taste. If you have any other vegetables producing heavily in your garden like eggplant or green beans, you could add some of those too. The ingredient amounts are flexible. You can add more or less of any of them. I even add a little kale if available from my garden.

Do you crack the eggs before adding or do you drop them in whole so it’s like a regular hard boiled egg?

These are the coolest squash I’ve ever grown. This was my first year, and I will definitely grow them again. I do have a question for you. My soil is constantly flooded and most likely very deficient in nutrients. I’m not quite sure I’ve tested several times and honestly, I don’t really see a change on the test strips so..… anyway I have about 2- 20 foot vines going in different directions, lots of side shoots.I feel like it might need less to support because some of the side shoots look like they’re struggling already. Possibly deficient, like the roots of 2 cannot handle all of this. They have brown tips and are starting to turn yellow. I’ve only been able to grow 2 large squash and 3 small that I hand pollinated, but they didn’t grow longer than 8 inches, then started to get soft so I just pulled them off. Would you recommend that I trim some side shoots or stop the growing tip and cut that?
@MaryMakesАй бұрын
Fruit that turns brown and doesn’t get large can often be from lack of pollination. Are you hand pollinating regularly? It could also be like you said that the roots are flooded. If you’re worried about nutrient but have lots of moisture consider a water double fertilizer that you can sprinkle into the soil. All that moisture should melt it down nicely.
@Ninabeana1313Ай бұрын
@@MaryMakes as stated I hand pollinate so it’s not a pollination issue. These are turning brown before ever opening a flower. I’m at a loss, I’ve tried everything. I’m about to give up gardening in this yard. I’ve never had so many problems in 25 years of growing.

Cucuzza steamed with tomato and plenty of garlic will make a lovely stew then you need a loaf of italian bread to push the juice around. Got started with these by an old italian gardener. His trellis is permanent, goes up 6 feet and over/down the other side. He pulls the fruits down through the horizontal section and gravity makes then 4ft long and straight. I have a lesser trellis but I'm hoping for similar results. If I get lots, I'm going to try some of them serpent style. That's the natural shape.
