While I agree that Ozpin doesn't deserve the hate. Salems motivations are entirely justified. She wants revenge against the gods that literally ended the world, abandoned humanity, and tortured her and her lover. Ozpin wants the gods to be returned, he's still bound tro their will, serving the light god when he himself is the reason shit is the way it is. The gods are the enemy they are the ones that caused all this. And Salem knows that, its why she tries to convince Ozpin to stop, to rule as the new gods together. Hell in the beginning they both ruled together and things were peaceful, they even had children. But Ozpin had to ruin it by following the Light Gods orders to him. Ozpin has suffered for centuries serving a god that does not care for him or humanity only himself. And in the same breath Salem has suffered for centuries being immortal and then corrupted by the forces of said gods. First cursed by the god of light to live forever, and then when the world ended and she was totally alone. She jumped into the pit of darkness to end her life so she could finally be at peace. Only to become corrupted by the dark energy, thus making her "evil" and in control of the grim. Honestly, I feel like Ozpin is blinded by centuries of Bias, and while Salem is indeed a "villian" she is not unreasonable, she offers mercy she offers to let people live so long as they give her what she needs to prevent Ozpin from bringing back the gods. She isn't irredeemable more a good soul twisted by darkness and justified hatred.

I thought Salem wanted the gods to return too, just for a different reason. She isn’t trying to stop them from coming back, she’s trying to summon them back in a time where humanity is divided so they destroy everything. She only wants to die at this point. Though your first points were true before Salem killed Ozpin for the first time, she’s definitely in the wrong now that she’s literally just trying to end the world

You know something thats not brought up alot but the world of Remnant is so lucky that Jaune was born from a line of heros and aspires to be one, because imagine if he was a villain? Like with about a year of training he was able to be on par with a Maiden, maidens that are said to be all powerful. And thats without his semblance which is basically infinite Aura and boosting the effects of aura, which we see abit of in Jaundice. But anyway, if jaune was a Villain the world would have been f**ked.

I've always been fond of the kind of amv where if you could show it to a character from the source material, they could understand what it conveys. And this one is a pretty good candidate for Ozma's story.

The Rusted Knight. A man who stood against Salem, and survived, Defender of Mantel, The first man through the gates. Jaune is a hero, a definitive one at that. Yet above all else he isn't the hero of the show that would be Ruby. She rallied humanity into its stand, she is the threat to the cause of evil. Hes the hero to Ruby, to his friends and allies.

What really stings in my opinion, is when he tells Pyrrha that she was the person to ever believe in him. If what he said is true, then that means no one in his family ever believed he could ever become a warrior, much less a huntsman. Jaune comes from a family of warriors, he said so himself; his father, his grandfather, and great-grandfather were all warriors, yet none saw any potential in him. The one who did, the only one who did, is the girl that would become the most important person in his life
@fido56429 ай бұрын
Jaune reminds me so much of this quote. "A Knight protects. A Hero saves. A Soldier endures. We wanted to be Heroes, wanted to be Knights and instead here we find ourselves, turned into Soldiers..."

Some Fans of Rwby and the in show cast complain a lot about Ozma/Ozpin. The cast suffers a lot but I believe Android 16 from TFA's dub said it best; "You act like you're the only one suffering, but I believe Trunks has some stories for you, and I can assume they end with ' * and then he died too * ' " This isn't to take away from their suffering but for a cast of characters and some so ready to help their friends they make a heavy point of casting the blame on Ozma/Ozpin.

And once again I realize that the God of Light is a total d**k. He instigates or makes a mess and then makes someone else clean it up making a bigger mess in the process. - It was the GoL who chose to reject Salem's plea and then interfere when the GoD was willing to bring Ozma back. - It was the GoL who cursed Salem with immortality when she attacked them after watching them treat her husband's life as a thing of no consequence by resurrecting and killing him over and over again. - The GoL did nothing when the GoD wiped out humanity. - When Salem chose to isolate herself from all of Remnant, he chose to break his own rule and bring back the very person that Salem begged him to bring back in the first place and blessed (in truth cursed) him with a parasitic immortality and started the chain of events that brought Salem back into the world eventually leading to the events that led to her becoming the Grimm!Queen and Salem's destroy the world plan would have never existed in the first place if the GoL hadn't created the four relics. So while Salem is responsible for her actions, she is only human. The GoL does not have that excuse.

Ah yes, the punching bag of the show there to remind you how weak every male character is. Always being saved, always getting lectured by everyone, treated as a joke by his friends and the audience. Bad writing betrayed you jaune.

Oz's story is so incredibly tragic. He was a genuine hero: even when given the chance to return to life by a God he would have rather died as long as it meant he could be with Salem. He loved her and he still does, even after several lifetimes. He blames himself for everything that she does. He believes it's his fault, somehow. That maybe things could have been different, if he had just stayed with her. But what's done is done and what's broken can never be the same again. Oz is going to have to kill the woman he loves more than anything. And it's going to kill him. It already does.
