soothsayer implies somone that sits back reads out your fortune. or gazes into the cosmos. this version is more of. "if you some much as hurt my freinds future i'm going to make your life hell!"

I didn't interpret the song like that at all, I interpreted it more as, everyone wants you to read the future, but the future isn't absolute-- and coming from an actual soothsayer, it really isn't. But once one vision comes true, people want you to predict everything, when it's really not up to you how their future pans out. That's up to their choices.
