Graun was a Berlin composer I seem to remember. His work must have been familiar to Mendelssohn.

Gorgeous, altogether. Bravo! A new (for me) piece, rich brilliant viola tone and handling, lively interpretation. And perfect support by the ensemble. What a treat! Thank you. 🙏

This is it! Niccolo Eugelmi has the correct approach to this piece. Sing it out. Let the notes speak for themselves without being too nuanced. All the notes deserve to be heard. Each note is perfect. Other performers let the notes disappear in subtleties. This is a very 'singing' and romantic approach I think it is just right. Bravo!

Love this version, a touch fast ( first part ) but of all versions that I've heard, comes close to what I imagine { as Niccolo has wonderfully played it } & could have sounded in Telemann's day. Slowly gentle & with so much Grace.

I love the speed of the second movement, the Alegro. It has a wonderful feel of joy and almost sounds syncopated.
@mr.angelosonassis30694 ай бұрын
I share the feeling that Mr. Eugelmi has played as they would have in the time of Telemann, especially his added notes in the first movement that soloists of that day liked to do.

Your sound is what I think a viola should sound like! I was even more surprised to see the shape of viola you're playing on - I have one that was made in the mid 2000s, a 16.5". So neat to see another out in the wild.

L'instrument soliste est présenté comme Viola da braccio ; quelles sont donc les différences avec l'alto telles que l'on peut les voir a partir de l'écran ?

A viola da braccio is, in fact, a viola. My viola has an old design, that's all.

The viola concertos weren’t so numerous as those of other instruments. Although the sound is fantastic being more full bodied than the violin, for example. The player is outstanding and the music is superb. Thanks for this wonderful interpretation.

I'm excited to find this video and learn about this piece. I've ordered the music and I can't wait for it to arrive so I can work on it. It has the sort of easy, pleasant elegance of the Telemann, and-- like the Telemann-- it looks technically straightforward. Great playing, by the way-- you really bring the piece to life and do it justice. Such a nice viola sound.
@NicoloEugelmi0013 жыл бұрын
It's currently considered to be the second oldest viola concerto after Telemann. Happy practicing!
