Great video... Not sure if it really made that much of a difference..like mentioned in the video... ceramics are not necessarily bad..and if you like fat tones... They actually deliver quite well..but the video was awesome and educational..good work thanks for sharing

Thank you! Just bought a lpjr Epiphone for $100. This is exactly the mod I've been looking for. I'm going to paint that hideous looking cream colored humbucker mounting ring black in the meantime.

What non magnetic poll pieces did you use ,and could you use non magnetic screws for a project like this ,why I ask is I'm trying to make some pick-ups for a 1960s framus star bass like Bill wyman and need the pick-ups to have that sort of sound, have to make them the polls are very close together and these pick-ups never come up for sale,Thanks for any response 😊

If I have a Les Paul special one with humbuckers and replace the bridge pick up with a p90 and remove the neck pick up could I expect similar results?

I have a diy amp circuit i bought ages ago which is 9v and quite small. Would that work with a sustainer project?

I’ve been slowly gearing up to start making my own custom pickups, but I’m very much hoping to experiment with the form factor. Your video has given me a lot of insight!

I love how informative and experimental this was. The cartoons were excellent visualizations. The mix of using analog and digital gear to make it all come together was super cool!

It’s kinda lipstick sounding. But like on meth, and lost its voice yelling at someone it wanted to fight? Just my opinion.

Can anyone tell me why I can't get any breakup with mine? I did exactly what this video shows, and my gain is nothing like this. Not even without a gain pot. With just the tubes running in series I get a clean boost, no breakup at all like in this video.

the reason i love my ns10's which is also the reason I get the best mixes i've ever made while also making them faster than i've ever be able to is this.....They have almost nothing below 200hz. the music you hear is all from around 200hz and up. this is great because everything under 200 is VERY distracting and takes up most of the energy in the music....bass is Boomy and exciting but not that musical. what you learn when you use many speakers and then go to ns10's is that actually the attack of your kick is around 200hz..not deep down at 80hz or something..same thing with the beef of your snare....and then above that is literally everything else except the sub info...so its REALLY easy to focus on whats actually important in making your mix punchy and musical....the other thing is that the speaker is Snappy as fuck...i have other monitors but the transient response on the ns10 is unlike anything else......THE CLA NS10's are not the same its not the same cone. anyway...thats all. have a nice day.

Great work. I've been thinking about adding magnets but hadn't thought of an electromagnet. I think it is interesting that things were significantly weaker when reversed while them not being reversed didn't seem to have a huge impact. You may have demagnetized the pole pieces in the first case which would cause a significant drop. Then maybe once the remagnetized it didn't matter how much more magnetic they were? Magnetism in an electromagnet varies lineralrly with current. With a lot of overly simplistic assumptions, I guess it doesn't seem unreasonable for the change to be slight--even if magntism linearly impacted output, doubling the current would only be an increase of 6 dB. But i have to believe it isn't anything near a linear relationship so i wouldn't necessarily expect a huge boost in output. Great work!

14:08 OMG that guy from LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER is the most annoying person on YT. It's so frustrating because I always like the subject of what he's going on about, but he takes interesting stuff and makes it super annoying and it feels abusive. He's like the opposite of the Cuckoo guy who takes cool stuff and makes it boring but in a nice chill way, like you can just play his latest 5-hour Volca Suppository masterclass video and leave it on in the background like it was Bob Ross or Joe Pera or whatever.
