TBH personality helps engagement - if people don't know much about the person behind the channel than you become a channel people search for fixes. If people get to know the person behind the channel then it becomes a community.....or something like that! Keep up the great work!

Thank you so much for the time and kind words Bill. That is a great complement, I adore the Red Green show. "If they don't find you handsome they should at least find you handy" This shop is actually right across the River from muscle shoals. I ain't no city dweller for sure. Less people and more land over here. I grew up over there off and on though, I grew up in and around the studios and artists as a kid. I come from a family of artists and many of my friends are the people you heard on hit records but it's real laid back around here. No one acts "famous" or flashy. It's nothing like that documentary to be honest. Growing up that was kinda the rough ghetto over there. So I guess I reside in both sides of the track, so to speak but choose to stay over here where it's quieter even after the gentrification that has gone on, don't go down the wrong street over there... 🤣 Thanks again for watching.

IDK about over there, but here in Brazil there's shops specialized in speaker repair that'll recone any speaker for the equivalent of a 6 pack. You can also often get decent speakers from them for about that price too (people "forget" to pick them up and they end up in the bargain bin).
@heavymetalATC
@heavymetalATC 10 ай бұрын
Ah, man I wish I knew of a shop like that around here. You usually have to find an amp or radio tech maybe a ham radio guy around here to recone a speaker. This was just a fun experiment though. I would obviously buy a recone kit for any speaker of value.

Thank you so much for watching but dude... I would try to order a set of recone kits for something like that. It won't destroy them to do a diy cone as they can always be coned again later but you will probably be much happier with proper kits with a surround even cheap generic ones. Although I mean if you can save your surrounds and if the voice coils are good you could just cut like an inch from each and "fill in" the missing part overlap it a 1/2 inch to an inch and glue it in with some strong rubbery glue. You shouldn't even have to pull the dust cap if the spider is still holding the voice coil in the center.

@heavymetalATC
@heavymetalATC 11 ай бұрын
Thank you so much eddie. I think some speakers are made from "special" pulps that are molded as cones wet and probably sprayed into molds... Hey, you could make a window screen mold and put news paper and brown paper bags, maybe dryer lint into a blender and mold a cone... Dang that's a good video idea. The ns10s used some kind of special "unicorn," paper for sure but it was basically just super high end photograph paper from my own research. They make hemp cone guitar speakers now and hartke bass rigs have aluminum cones, I've seen kevlar speakers. But the old ones... Paper glue and silk. 😂

Ahh that red box is a Gakken SX150 MK2 analog synthesizer. It's like a little "toy" ribbon synth from Japan... But about 10 years ago I took one apart and wired in proper inputs and outputs and control patch bay with a mixer and an amp in a big box to make a modular or "semi modular synth" and it was awesome. These little "toy" synths have every bit of capabilities as an expensive synth like a mini moog or mini brute they just lack proper interface and controls. I have some vids on the chanel with that big ole box synth but they were probably about 8 years back. I had an accident in the studio and a + 12 volt alligator clip popped off and just by the worst luck brushed the ground sleeve on a synth jack on the way too the ground and smoked the whole lot. It's my own fault for having no fuse. 🥲 Live and learn I reckon.
