Thank you. What are your thoughts on 4 or 5 hooks instead of 2? When you're not getting a lot of bites... maybe using multiple types of baits too to attract more?

So to use grub lures do you need a specialised HOOK for the grub.

I just have 'weedless' hooks, not jig heads and they're a real pain to line up. These jig head things are much straighter and easier, but surely they get snagged easily?

Yep, in real weedy water I use a weedless setup but in clear bottom water a normal jighead is fine.

thanks man, i generally use a 3 hook surf rig so i cut into thirds. i usually find that the fish go for the tail piece first.

I'm not arguing, I'm asking. Why do you need to pump the rod? It doesn't make the jig go faster since you're raising and lowering...so it must be the action? Otherwise just reeling the heck out of it would make the jig go just as fast...? Thanks

Small tip..I would burn the tag before doing the last half hitches on the braid. That way I can add one or two half hitches to fill the small gap between the burned ball and the original braid hitches, saves me being tempted to burn the ball too close to the braid and burning the braid. then come down onto the braid and complete the knot as you did.

You go under with the first hitch the rest of the world goes over with that first half hitch.. at least every single tutorial on youtube including this animated one (easy to see) . I have always thought like you ot should start under so as not to 'drag' the last loop over the other... is strange that everyone insists start half hitch over standing line kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4mWq5qcfsqhi7csi=6VYek-1eZ_8wnWQb

I like this video. All the good tipps, easy explained. Most use instructional videos to sell lures and try get beginners to think that some brand lures catch more fish than others. Greetings from Switzerland

I’m certainly no professional but it looks like he absolutely butchered that. If you look at 1:37 you can see the pilchard is already coming apart. That would fall off the hook in a decent pulling tide before any fish even got to have a crack at it.

I used these with the Team Catfish weight slides to make a kzbin.infoUgkxdmsDj7fQXe77DC0l7P7ua8B3PiESUubM Carolina rig and they were perfect for the ponds I fish. I have also used them to make 3 way rigs and these work perfectly. Haven't had any issues with them snagging in rocks or in weeds yet.

Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, kzbin.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.

I’ll try this next time but I usually do it the way you did the sinker but cut the top bit of line then use a blood knot to tie the hook an sinker on hopefully this increase my fish hook up more instead of loosing my bait to little suckers an get the big ones

I see you are using pretty solid rod so for me this means the bites to not depend on the action or let say if the rod is mo flexible. Do you feel the bites on you hand or wantch the line for some movement?
