So... You have your bugout bag so that you can bugout to... Somewhere else where you become a refugee when your food runs out? Come on, man. How about a Get Home Bag in a vehicle for the average person out there? Especially since most of us don't live anywhere near wilderness?

You’re missing one piece of key gear. You need a sling for your rifle. That way if you have to go hands free it’s not falling to the ground. The sling is a holster for your rifle.

Enjoyed the video. Obviously you put a fair amount of thought into your pack. Long term bugging out is very difficult. If anyone was planning on that as a strategy my suggestions would be: 1. Get more skills to do more with less. 2. Place caches so many of your items are already stored thereby keeping your load light. 3. Lone wolfs have a lower chance of long term survival. Keep making good content.

Just a few thoughts. Carry extra empty mylar bags. They weigh hardly anything and take up no room while giving you a storage source for filtered water, leftover food, or whatever. Carry silver. I have some old silver coins I carry if I need to buy or barter. Cash is always good if it's still being accepted, but silver (and gold) will always have a solid value. Carry a few of the smallest fishing hooks you can find. Very small bait fish are super easy to catch, but many hooks are too large for smaller mouths. A tube of Vaseline in your first aid kit

I have always wanted to get a 10/22 for SHTF for the light weight and portability. I have a custom built AR with a folding stock and quick release barrel but even then and the 700 rounds with 16 mags is a considerable weight to carry with all my other survival or bug out gear. Now I am on the hunt for 3 10/22 rifles for my wife and kids to have. I am glad I came across this video to reignite my interest in the 10/22 again. Besides I love how much customization you can do with it. Great video! Thanks from a former Delta 1st of the 41st Infantry Regiment ‘Death Merchants’

Awsome! Always liked that the Brits had a 24hr ration. I wish we had Tuna/Chicken/Spam packs in Canada but I have never seen anything besides the occasional tuna pack. Pop Tarts have no real food value, which means they will likely last a long time without the extra expense of mylar and o2 pack. You may want to put in a 1-a-day vitamin, or at least a 1,000 C+B tablet or power vitamin drink. I would say the mylar is largely un-needed as everything is shelf stable and come in it's own long term packaging. FoodSaver bags may be cheaper and easier to get (should one already own a Foodsaver machine.)

I picked up the tactical takedown version a couple years ago. I love that little rifle. Threaded barrel can be fitted with a shusher if you need to be extra quiet. Very compact but very quick to put it together. I was afraid that the accuracy might take a hit since it is a takedown rifle but it’s surprisingly accurate. I don’t think you can go wrong with ANY 10/22 configuration. 😊

I agree, accurate, light, ammunition in the hundreds can be carried, quiet, can bring down food and if necessary defensive. Any other size rifle limits your ability to carry enough ammo to feed it Cost effective. If you are talking weapons of WAR we are talking a different idea.I think you could easily carry 1000 rounds and not be hampered. Dependable, and available. I think the 10/22 take-down is optimum.

I'm curious about your opinion on the conflict in Europe, I know that your material is about a resident of the US, but what preparations would you make being a resident of Poland, in an area 100km from the border with Ukraine, is it time to evacuate, or rather to organize your at home in an appropriate manner. I'll just point out that I recently moved from a larger city to the countryside, but it's still about 60km from the airport in Poland through which Ukraine is supplied. A question in connection with the recent decisions of the government in Washington.

Id take the model 60 over the 10/22 all day. Self contained magazine that cannot be lost or misplaced , holds more ammo , just as reliable, ridiculously accurate.

Reliable, dependable, and accurate. I agree with everything you said. However, my idea of the best survival rifle varies a little bit. With me, the ultimate survival rifle would be the Ruger Take-Down with the stainless hardware and add a Magpul Backpacker Stock. There's storage in the stock for 3 extra ten round magazines. It takes down and securely affixes the for end and stock end securely and compactly.
