rose is a deceiver and heretic, much like origenus, but more advanced. This one is a homosexual, never baptized Orthodox but deceiving and using the image of a genuine Saint (Saint John Maximovici) do deceive people to believe he is Orthodox. A homosexual cannot ever be an Orthodox Priest. On the other hand, there is no Priesthood without the Orthodox Baptism . It is easy to see that rose was the priest of the devil. That is why he also died like Arius In The Church, we have the teachings of the Holly Fathers. Their teachings are pure water. What rose is giving you is poisoned water.

@ Thank you for the thoughtful question. We keep the Divine Office as best as we can manage. We focus on making our efforts as simple as possible so that we accomplish much yet with the least distraction or time. As your video says, good and bad alike are distractions from God. Our day to day thinking is: Work and Pray. We make laughter out of nearly everything, including the tough times. As much as possible, we give away food. We will give away a whole pig and do very minimal pricing to support the poor. We use our farm equipment to help those who are otherwise left to do everything by hand. We have never taken any money or barter for this. In the end, it's helping people that matters. We also have learned how to avoid many commercial products to make our lives simpler. Whether it's our own apple cider vinegar, personal grooming and cleaning materials, we enjoy retreat away from the need to always be getting and doing. Being in the dirt and filth and serving the poor impose humility. We pray that this leads us to holiness and to serve both God and neighbor. Short answer: everything changed.

@ajcottrill4949 very good question brother, I don't have an answer at the moment
@user-yf6xd6jm7q5 күн бұрын
I'm not confident in my argument but I know for sure that free will is an important thing for us humans and I want to share some thoughts. Free will is vital in our relation with God. If I'm not mistaken, love abounds when we have the choice to choose it. We could've chosen to reject God's love, but we don't. That's what God wants in the world. Also in Jonah's story, God knew that his reasoning to not go to Ninevah wasnt an honest or good reason. Jonah wanted judgement upon them(thats pretty harsh). He later repented for his disobedience. It's possible that God wanted Jonah to realize this and humble himself while also speaking before the Ninvites. 2 birds, 1 stone, maybe?

@ Yeah no worries. Good book. I was being a little cheeky. When Bp K wrote this and up until recently Orthodox had always held that there are seven general councils. Modern guys with specific agendas like Peter Heers keep adding councils to that list to push an agenda: the 2nd 4th Constantinople council and one of the Palamite councils. It’s just interesting that although he and his devotees will confidently tell you they are ecumenical, Bp K acknowledges only seven, and Bp K also admits that there isn’t a way for councils to be recognized in a straight forward way.

At his tonsure, in October 1970, Rose took the name "Seraphim" after Seraphim of Sarov. He wrote, translated and studied for the priesthood in his cell, a one-roomed cabin with neither running water nor electricity, where he would spend the rest of his days.

@derekdavis3004 what would be the point of fasting then? Is that not a hardship brother? Yet Jesus tells us to do it
@derekdavis300413 күн бұрын
This is not to make light of those how legitimately suffer for Jesus sake. But I take issue with fabricating suffering. Standing up during church service and lying face-down on the floor when praying is just for show. What about the infirm? They cannot stand at all or lay face down of their own volition. We all have our struggles and the Lord notice all of it. But are we suffering because the world is at odds with us over our love for the Lord or because we want to show off to others? I am being sincere about this and not just making light.
@AlecIakovos13 күн бұрын
@derekdavis3004 I understand your position brother. These men of God usually drew themselves away from society in order to worship God so I don't believe they are doing it for show. I feel that is the complete opposite of what monsatic life is about. But thank you for your comment

As I was watching this, I forgot, that Fr Seraphim Rose lived so long ago, and he talked to our parents and grandparents. All I could think of was - he is talking about this, current generation! And then I see your comment from 5 minutes ago to correct me and make me leave out of my imagination :D We are living children of "me" generation. Yet somehow, the Orthodox Church still lives amongst this evil. It's even growing! But one of the russian saints prophesied, that it's last flowering before the end.
@Mymyhatesjazz14 күн бұрын
@wojtex2011 It has become exponentially difficult with each passing generation, especially in America, to not fully assimilate to the most vulgar and disgusting aspects of our culture. I struggle with it daily. But Fr. Seraphim Rose recognized, even in a slightly more innocent time, that there are ways to detach ourselves and become closer to God. Hopefully Patriarch Kirill sees as to why he should be gifted sainthood soon.
