Not sure if you’ve mentioned it already, but why the black painting?

@@ross82 if there are any shadow gaps in the vinyl panels black is a good background colour, we also noticed Sunseeker do the same and we had black in stock 😂👍

@@boatholic4458 I suspected that’s why, I guess it’ll depend how thick your panels are and the intended gap width. Our boat used the lines as a feature by using a mixture of polished teak and black vinyl tape to create the accent. But the panels are only about 5mm thick

Stunning workmanship - makes me realize that I could never take on such a project! I'm amazed at how much wood is needed. Do you have an idea about how your empty weight will compare to a factory SC35?

There is a lot of weight going in that boat???
@boatholic4458
@boatholic4458 16 күн бұрын
Not really, we estimate that the internal mouldings fitted by the factory which are missing would weigh around 500kg and so far we are about 200KG, so should come in under weight....

Do you think this boat will be much heavier than the factory built version?
@boatholic4458
@boatholic4458 Ай бұрын
The timber we are using is lightweight poplar plywood. The factory boat had an internal liner and mouldings which would of added significant weight, so we are hoping to come in under weight....

Great work !!! I have watched all episodes in few days and I am impressed with your progress. In this stage do not forget insulation...both sound and heat...consider selfadhesive rubber for both sound/condensation for everything below waterline, before glassing everything while you can still reach those areas. Condensation is greatest enemy as it will make boat constantly damp...Also try to use less wood support as you are going to be very heavy and that can cause million other issues... Keep up good work
@boatholic4458
@boatholic4458 Ай бұрын
Thanks for watching, we will definitely be fitting insulation. The timber is lightweight poplar plywood and therefore weighs less than the timber and internal mouldings fitted by Sealine, so we are hoping to come in under weight....

Not sure how that exact boat ran heating tubes, but I've seen other boats use aviation grade fiberglass flexible heating ducts and manifolds to do that task.

Why your using 5200 I will never now , expensive and has nowhere near the life of sikaflex . Marine engineer of 39yrs . Also used to transport sealines from Kidderminster . Definitely not the best boat around . 34sc collapse around 18" pads on transport, 42 sc as well suffered same issue . Resin rich lay up found to be issue 17 boats in all found to have same problems. Good luck .

Good one again guys, can’t believe what poor workmanship came out of the Sealine factory anyone owning a Sealine watching this must be quite nervous about the integrity of their boat, the things you are discovering must surely be found on other boats which I think is quite concerning. Keep it up progress progress!
@boatholic4458
@boatholic4458 Ай бұрын
Thanks Robert ! To be fair to Sealine we believe the screws were not put in by the Factory but probably by a 3rd party sometime after manufacture. We've seen nothing to suggest this has happened on any other SC35, only our boat !

The only questionable joint is the A pillars to the deck head but as long as you maintain the sealant then this should really be an issue.
