I left Fujifilm for the ZF. Absolutely in love with my ZF and it's not even close. The Low light performance and manual focus eye detection features are golden and idk what kind of magic they put into this 24 pixel sensor but it's a different kind of special with heaps of character. Can't wait to slap a 135 Plena on this baby.

I really liked it too and thought of buying it but in the end I sent it back to b&h lol. If I wasn’t invested in canon rf I would have thought about it some more but having 3 camera systems would be crazy lol

I've been a loyal Canon user since 2010 and have always been happy with the performance of their cameras. However, as I get older, I've started to find Canon gear a bit too heavy for travel. That's when I decided to give Fujifilm a try, especially since their cameras are more compact and lightweight. I recently purchased the X-T5 with the XF 50-150mm f/2.8 lens, but unfortunately, I’ve been really disappointed with the continuous autofocus performance. It misses the target far too often. Fuji executives, please address this focus issue quickly-your customers are starting to lose patience!

I recently purchased the X-T5, and unfortunately, I'm experiencing the same issue with its autofocus - it's not performing well. I've missed a lot of shots, especially when using my 50-140mm f/2.8 lens, and many of them have turned out blurry. It's really frustrating, and I'm quite disappointed with its performance so far. For context, I'm a Canon user and have always been happy with the performance of my Canon gear. I switched to Fuji because I was attracted to the compactness and lighter weight of the system, but this issue has been a letdown. Please address this issue as soon as possible-people are getting increasingly frustrated as time goes on.

I've had the 56mm 1.2 WR for some time now, but been curious about the Viltrox 75. Recently found it for 20% off online, so I had to jump on it, to satisfy my curiosity. Excited to test it out when it arrives!

I read today (11/22/2024) the following headline: Fresh Fujifilm filrmware finally gives the X-H2, X-H2s, GFX100 II autofocus and video makeovers I am disappointed the XT-5 wasn’t included as it is basically the same camera as the X-H2, albeit with a different design philosophy. Any news if this update will eventually come to the XT-5? It is the only thing that has prevented this camera from becoming a classic.

You don't really need a joystick When you can set up the touchscreen to move your focus points when using the evf you can set left quadrant right quadrant etc it's actually quicker then a joy stick

Yeah I get that but I don’t like the touch screen for AF just a preference thing and then if you like using it w the screen closed of course you can’t touch focus.

I ordered a Zf with the 40mm F2 from B&H today and should have it tomorrow. I want to compare it against my X-H2S and X-H2 with the latest Fujifilm firmware. I have only used Fujifilm, but the lack of consistency in the auto focus behavior has worn me down to the point that I am willing to try another system. I'm sure the Nikon isn't perfect, but it might be a better fit for my style of photography. If the Nikon has more reliable auto focus, I doubt the features that Fujifilm has will be enough to keep me as a customer.

So you had the camera for a month and couldn’t figure out how to assign the Fn button to access the AF modes and change using the front and back dials? Also, you apparently are not aware that you can use the LCD as a “virtual” joy stick. I find this actually works much better than a physical joystick. It certainly would nice if you learned more about using the camera before spreading bad information on the Tube. As for lenses without aperture rings, I agree this would be nice, but the Zf is more of a niche product for Nikon and it probably doesn’t make sense to develop a line of lenses for one camera model (I guess 2 if you count the Zfc). I also agree that the front dial is difficult to use, so I switched aperture control to the rear dial. Much easier. Fortunately, the Z mount allows you to adapt just about any lens out there and there are plenty to choose from. The subject/eye detection with manual focus lenses makes nailing focus so easy. I was an avid Fuji user in the past (Xt-1, X-Pro2, X-e3), but had too many issues with the interface and reliability. I switched to Nikon when the Zfc came out and now have the Zf. Both are solid performers and I don’t miss Fuji at all.

For Autofocus mode changing, I use the record button and front back command dials to change modes. I have rear dial to change focus point/area, and front dial for mode. This is on my Expeed6 bodies but would imagine should be same for Expeed7 bodies.

The Fuji autofocus issues is the only thing stopping me from buying a fuji camera. Its a toss up between fuji or sony and I'd love to go fuji because of the dials and film-sims etc, but the af is very discouraging.

I watched many videos about the ZF. Thinking o buying one but your video caught my attention about the focus method switching. So no quick button to toggle through the focus methods. Hhmm that sux. Question. Can i have metering spot meter match my focus point location. Meter where the small focus point is ??" Thanks.
