Corporate event and portrait shooter here. 35 years+. Been shooting Fuji for about 5 years now. Never a problem and never a complaint. With software getting better and better I don't see a need for full frame. At least for what I do. Had to do a 200 person group shot last minute for a very well know Banking corporation. Very little day light left. 7pm ish. Only had on camera flash since this wasn't planned. ISO 2000. Not real high but for 200 people and the need for detail? My editor could not believe how noiseless the converted raw was. More credit to the software but that's my point. Better software makes ANY camera work well. But even my everyday work, thousands of headshots, I love my Fuji X-T5. Have an X-T3 and X-H1 and several premium Fuji lenses. Although that group shot was with a 13mm Viltrox.

Thank you for this valuable input! I am with you but I do think Fuji needs to improve the AF esp in continuous. In AF-S I haven't had a problem.

As a hobby photographer, I enjoy using my XS20 & XT4. Started Fuji with a XE4 (failed ribbon $$$$) & an XT3. My latest two has more features than I'll ever use compared to my film days, but the challenge has always taught me something new that film wouldn't have. Photography plus an education.

I've been shooting Canon for a few years and just got the Fuji X-T50 a couple months ago. I'm much more comfortable with the Canon and I feel like I can work faster on it, but only because it's what I've been using for so many years and I'm more invested in the ecosystem. The Fuji is way more cool and fun, but I'm a long way away from being proficient with it, and I've only got a couple lenses right now, so I'm not quite ready to rely on it for any paid work, but I hope to get there someday. I really like your jazz club photos. I'm glad to hear that you're a Canon and Fuji guy too, so I feel like I'm on the right path. 😂

Thanks brother! I appreciate this. yeah, one challenge of using 2 systems is that you gotta be familiar with both. Takes some time but once you get in the groove they both feel really good and natural for you. I think the xt50 is one of the best cameras fuji has made so far, enjoy it!!

Pete! To make R5 work with Capture One use a simple USB to USB-C cable and an inexpensive adapter USB to USB-C. Don't use high end USB-C to USB-C cable only. It will try to charge battery in the camera. Also take both cards out when tethering. Let me know if that helped. It worked for me.

I shoot professionally with Fuji gear exclusively, it does everything I need. Why do I shoot Fuji... Many years ago before I was a professional, I used to shoot with Sony, but my house was broken into and all my Sony gear was stolen, I had no insurance at the time, all I could afford was a body only Fujifilm X-T10, a friend lent me his XF35mm F/1.4 lens (which I used pretty much exclusively for 2 years+) , and after using that lens I was a Fuji shooter and I've never looked back

I am happy that I am not a pro. The lack of support and a decade without updated lenses (16-55/2.8, 50-140mm...), brand new lenses with slow and noisy AF for a high price ... this would drive me crazy. Months with unsolved firmware issues, unreliable system performance, intenionally delayed delivery of new cameras and lenses to keep the prices high... much too stressful, especially if there's no fall back solution like a second camera from Sony, Nikon or Canon. Tethering: my XH2 and XH2s took me hours to work (iPad), including many mails with the Capture One support. Battery out/in was the solution. Found by chance. The Capture One support was very astonished.

You make good points my friend. Can’t argue with any of it. I don’t understand at all why they are releasing any high end lenses without linear motors at this point.

Been shooting Fuji for over 5 years now. Full time pro so I shoot a lot. I've never come across those problems. Focus is fast enough for what I do. If you want less noise try DXP Deep Prime. Amazing raw converter. I have those lenses and they are sharp as hell. And again, fast enough.

Interesting you say you pick up the X-T5 for concerts. I’m a concert photographer and use the X-T5 and all of the 1.4 primes and the 90 f2 for quite a while now. I get great results in most venues that have even just decent lighting, but in some grungier dive bars the lighting can be pretty atrocious and needing to shoot at at least 1/125 and picking moments where not a lot of movement is happening, the image quality still falls apart at +10000 iso. I’m so tempted to make a switch to Nikon full frame, but unsure if the low light performance will be that noticeable. What are your opinions on this when you bring your canon vs Fuji to low lit events
@PeteCocoPhoto
@PeteCocoPhoto 2 ай бұрын
I use the 50mm f/1 a lot for this so I can keep the iso down. I never go above 6400 if I can help it on either camera but I haven’t really pushed the canon to the higher iso levels so I can’t give you a definite answer there.

@@PeteCocoPhoto I came from the XT line but decided I’d go for the XH2 body as opposed to the XT style that I had been accustomed to since the XT2. I’m glad I did but I do want to get either a used XT4 or 5 for travel. The XT2 was just one of those cameras I could never part ways with even though it’s starting to show its age.

ABSOLUTELY Fuji is a pro brand camera company! I used a Fuji years ago for professional wedding photography, and now ... Fuji has even moved into Medium Format territory. Suffice it to say that Fuji outsells all other brands in the formats which it sells. That is, all but Full Frame -

I think people who are comfortable with their abilities deliberate less about what is or isn't "professional gear". I think a lot of what is written in reddit, comments etc declaring "model X isn't pro gear because" are just repeating what they've seen elsewhere or haven't reached a level of confidence or experience to realise that pro for equipment is a pretty vauge concept. Like you say, find what works for you and gets the job done. I often shoot events with the XH2 and XT5 together. I've never had clients put off (or even care) about brands or models. The only people who've ever made negative comments (very rare) about the models of camera have been event attendees who have a bit of interest in photography and a preconception that pros only shoot mid to high end full frame Canon, Nikon or Sony. I've had photographers come up to me at events (not working the event) just curious, but not negative .. "how are you finding them" sort of stuff. The most positive comments have come regarding the silver XT5 (eg "what a cool looking camera" or "Is that a Fuji?!, I've got an XT30 at home"). The XH2 at a glance looks just about like every other contemporary mirrorless camera.

@oliverfox838
@oliverfox838 2 ай бұрын
Any camera you can make money with is a pro camera, but I would seriously question Fuji's credentials as a pro brand. The X-H2s is dead in the water ATM. The whole purpose of that camera is to deliver fast and reliable AF for both stills and video, it not longer does that and it's their flagship model. No sane person would buy it new or used until the current issues are resolved. Fuji seems to have sacrificed upgrading the X-E and X-Pro lines in favour of pursuing a slice of the pro market. Not a daft idea, as long as you get it right, which I believe they did...until they didn't. And in taking their eye off the modern vintage market they've been mugged by Nikon with the Zf which not only has better AF, but amazing MF tools too. I should have bought a backup X-T5, but instead got the Zf and love it (in spite of its size and weight). It's not an X series killer, mainly because I don't think Nikon believe in modern vintage in the same way that Fuji does, but it's asking questions. Fuji still has a huge amount to offer to both pros and enthusiasts, but the next few months are going to define how seriously pros will take them. If they don't fix the AF issues, then I think the pro dream will be over (not inc. GFX). I think they will get there though, they have too much to lose.
@PeteCocoPhoto
@PeteCocoPhoto 2 ай бұрын
Yep true, that was kind of my point although I took a while to get there LOL. I think you are right - the next few months are key for Fuji. I have a Zf for testing right now and it is a great camera for sure. Thanks for the thoughtful reply, I appreciate it!

Havent watch the video yet, but answering the question, it is not a pro camera brand. A pro camera brand, as Sony or Canon, is ready for whatever comes, not a holyday trip, not a landscape, not a studio photo/video, not a bird photo/video... WHATEVER comes. And reliable. Fuji is whatever but not reliable and not ready for every situation. Even with 1.03 fw and static subjetcs, loses focus. Fuji? No, thanks, anymore.

@@PeteCocoPhoto No way you change my opinion, sorry :S At the end of the day the most important factor is not the person behind but is not losing the rice, the kisses, or moments that not going to happen again. And all because a camera used to focus "well" cant focus anymore. I use my camera for working and need a reliable one. Fuji is not. I have heard sooooo many times "the person behind the camera". Im still the same but with a reliable sony camera. And that give me peace. I can sleep again. Solo video run and gun, 400 guests, running to a place to another, and the results turns to be couples in anger because some shots were missing. No more fuji.
