@@livinginthehd Thanks! It's slow going, but we are seeing existing commercial being reoccupied and commercial and residential yards being cleaned up. Hopefully, the cancellation of the CARB rule will speed things up. The City had to rezone in their most recent General Plan the accommodate to development because of BNSF.

Totally agree. If you look at the pattern for cities down the hill that slowly ticked up in price. Fontana, Rialto and Rancho used to be cheap like HD but as soon as businesses arrived and a bit of gentrification happened, it boomed. Not to be pessimistic but I am seeing the same pattern here since I moved in 2021. It is just me but in 5 yrs, anyone who did not move up will be priced out like the rest of Cali. Just my two cents.

Everyone swears the trains are gonna create some big boom what exactly are the trains gonna do? Is it gonna be jobs? Because that’s not gonna create jobs

There will be plenty of jobs created and then there's all the supporting industries that will then have jobs.

The lanes crossing food truck park they came out saying that they didn’t want to lower the rent for the winter time and that’s why they are moving to Adelanto. I don’t know if that’s gonna to be too far for me to be going to the food truck park but I will go and check it out when they open. I really do think the city should have just offered a better location here in Victorville for them to do the food truck park at. Thanks for sharing

I always make it a point to mention to anyone considering a move to the High Desert that traffic is a significant factor, especially for commuters traveling to and from LA. It’s definitely not an easy sacrifice to make, and if I were commuting those hours every day, I might think twice about moving here too. That being said, I also know that many families choose to move to the High Desert because it allows them to purchase a home they may not have been able to afford in areas like Montebello or other parts of LA. Sometimes, buying a home means making certain trade-offs, and while it can be tough, it’s often a stepping stone toward building long-term equity and stability.
