Maybe it’s just me, but it doesn’t get much better than Wilson-Pierson harmonizing to lift your soul into the heavens. First saw the band on SNL in 1980 as a 13 year old and couldn’t believe what I was seeing and hearing. Been a fan ever since. As for the meaning of the song I doubt there is any correlation to the town of Glass, Texas which is 54 miles west of Venus, but as a former Texan for 6 years, it sure felt like you were in a while other world at times... Bravo and Long Live the B-52s!!!

this footage of Ricky wearing a mechanics work shirt with name tag, is the first video of this punk fashion statement that i have found. i do know that the thrift store fashion of the b 52's arouse from them being the typical broke college kids looking for inexpensive clothing at resale shops.

Whoever is responsible for this video being kept in condition it is, and making sure that we all had the opportunity to enjoy it, should themselves be inducted into the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame.

Why weren't these videos shown when the song come out? Not good enough for MTV? Or was this some person recording?

The sound in this particular show was amazing. Such a raw sound on the drums and guitar. This was a borderline punk/post punk show with how hard and tight they played.

One more thing here ! ...... As a pround member of the LGBTQ community, I'd like to shout out that every musician is a member with the exception of Ms. Cindy Wilson. Gave me much needed "Hero Worship" at a tough time to come out in 1980. Love them on so many levels ! ♥️☮️♥️

I saw these guys in West Hartford ,Ct. this same year. They got lost and were like two hours late ! I can see why, the venue was way off the beaten path in some crazy industrial hanger ! However ...... Once the concert started , this phenomenal band "worked their asses off" to give my young 18 year old self an experience I will NEVER forget. Very much like this, they were in their prime and had an unearthly work ethic and talent rarely seen today. I will always bow to these cool musical wonders and so glad I got to bare witness to the awesome Ricky Wilson ! ☮️♥️ Eternally Marvelous !!!!

Always loved the sharpness and mod edge of "Give Me Back My Man" ....... nothing beats that xylophone break with Fred !!! And Ricky's "riffs" were always interplanetary !!! "Go-Go" dance party , anyone ??!!! 🩷💜💙🩵💚💛🧡❤️♥️☮️

When this was new I was a teenager. I was diving in hard with all the new music coming out for a fews yrs already, Underground and non commercial. Yes late 70s punk rock, big cramps fan, and the so called new wave, was taking off with it. Me , a southern Cal LA kid who grew up loving early 60s surfbeat and garage, the B52s were so raw and original. The guitarist was doing stuff really no one else was but maybe 2 other guitarist at that time. The history books better recognize this band for their greatness

I was so late to the party on The B-52’s. Watching now, they were so ahead of their time.
