I saw the B-52’s when I was in the Navy. They did some USO stuff. Great band.

The tuning is CFxxFF. Same tuning as "Rock Lobster" and "Dance This Mess Around". String gauges (told to me by Keith Bennett, Ricky's guitar tech) are .058, .056, empty, empty, .018p, .018p. Ricky sometimes would tune it a bit sharper than the standard 440 Hz, too - in 444 or 445 Hz, on purpose. (Edited to update info after 9 thumbs up.)

I just saw them on their farewell tour and they did this song and I lost my mind. Ricky Wilson is truly missed. Those guitar riffs are what I wake up to every morning. The B-52's are badass as it gets 👍😆👊♥️

@@kevinlong5392 I just saw them on Friday in Los Angeles. It was probably my 17th or 18th time since 1980. The didn’t play any deep tracks, but they were as great as always. I was so happy that they played 52 girls and dance this mess around, as well as whammy.

@@63Cherylg I saw them in DC last month. They had an awesome playlist but I really like Party Out of Bounds, and I can't let them get away without performing Mesopotamia and Give Me Back My Man and Planet Claire and Dirty Back Road 😄

This video seems like it was intentionally filmed to NEVER show Ricky's hands so you can never figure out how to play this.

It's not impossible to figure out, the stumbling block is that he used an unusual 4 string tuning (omitting the 2 middle strings) for this. The tuning is CFxxFF, and he somewhere decided "Ya know what, I'm gonna use 2 thick Low E strings, and 2 G strings for this." The string gauges are .058, .056, empty, empty, .018p, and .018p. I'm not kidding about the string gauges, Keith Bennett (who worked as Ricky's guitar tech) told me, and I can't get more official than that. I've been active enough in a fan group to have had this question answered.
