Ever since I was a kid I've loved the "Sherbet Fountain" candy tubes with the rope of black liquorice in the middle to lick and dip in the sherbet. I don't see it in the stores here very often and when I do I'm always a bit disappointed by how much sherbet is in the small tubes, especially for the price. I suddenly thought to look online for a DIY version and yours looked the closest to what comes in the tubes (minus the jelly crystals). I couldn't find tartaric acid on short notice and I was impatient so I substituted cream of tartar, which is similar but not quite the same. Well... it tastes exactly like the commercial candy I grew up with. Now all I have to do it stop myself from making myself sick from eating too much at one time. I'll never buy the stuff in the yellow "fountain" tubes again. Thanks so much.

@@tracycreatesdishes just curious though, is the powder and curry mix must needed?
@tracycreatesdishes6 ай бұрын
@@laurahero8778the powder (flour) is used to thicken the curry sauce. You could use corn flour slurry to thicken. The curry powder gives the sausages flavour and won't thicken the sauce. Hope this helps.😊

Hi Tracy. How chewy is this one? Is it more like jelly or is it more like fruit leather?
@tracycreatesdishes7 ай бұрын
Half way between jelly and fruit leather.

Lost me at onions. People always use WAY too much onion and flavor ends up in balanced. Or they don't cook the onions so it ruins the dish texturally
@tracycreatesdishes7 ай бұрын
Each to their own when it comes to onions. I personally love the onions but you don't have to use them just continue on without them. 😀

Can you use milk instead of cream ?
@tracycreatesdishes Жыл бұрын
Hi there! I have never used milk instead of cream. I don't think that they will turn out as fluffy and light as cream has more fat and flavour to help in the process. Let me know if you try the scones/biscuits with milk, I'm interested to know how they turn out.

Do these have the chewy filling like an Arnotts Monte Carlo ?
@tracycreatesdishes Жыл бұрын
If you want the chewy filling try making the filling 1/2 a day in advance or add a little more Icing Sugar to the mixture to absorb some of the moisture.
